I thought it was weird the Corvette (ship the Leia's on) getting hit which is the second and by far worst model shot the trilogy didn't get fixed up.

I remember being curious to see the cut footage of Luke and Biggs on Tatooine before Biggs leaves to join the Alliance, and I was disappointed that it didn't make it into the SE, apparently that footage had just degraded to the point where it was completely unusable.

You're going to complain about Jabba, but you want the movie to be ruined forever with the Toshi Station scene? Trust me, it's horrible.

I was just curious about it, just like I was curious about seeing the Jabba scene completed and curious to see what the CGI wampa was going to look like.  Doesn't mean I think it would improve the movie, even if it was just a dvd extra my curiosity would have been satisfied.

Here's my quick 2 cents on the Han/Greedo thing...
The change was unnecessary, and really kind of pointless.  On top of that, it was very poorly executed.  An experienced, cold-blooded killer doesn't miss from 2 feet away.  Was he aiming for a bug on the wall?  Hell, *I* wouldn't miss from 2 feet away, and I've never been trained to fire a gun.  A better fix would have been closer to what I did in my "renegade edit" of A New Hope (not available anywhere except on my shelf)...  I just cut out 1 or 2 frames.  What actually hurt the original version of the scene was the very brief flash we got of the obviously fake Greedo dummy.  Cut those frames, and you don't see who shot first, second, third, or whatever.  You just see a big explosion, followed by one of them slumping over dead.  Over that, it would have been easy for Lucas to put an extra laser blast sound to make it sound like a full-blown fight where Han comes out alive.

Other opinions, in brief:
-Hated the inclusion of Jabba.  He worked better as an unseen menace until Jedi.  Same goes for all the CGI whimsy sprinkled throughout the movie.
-Liked the new CGI battle scene over the Death Star.  The scene works better when the ships aren't flying like bricks.
-No really big beefs with Empire, that I can think of right now.  No changes were needed, is all I'd say about that one.
-The changing of Lapti Nek to the new song was f**king stupid.  Why not just have the Backstreet Boys do a cameo, George.  Would make as much sense.
-I'm one of those people who is pissed off over the inclusion of Hayden in the final scene.  F**king stupid.  Really f**king stupid.
-And why change the final Ewok celebration song?  That was unnecessary.

In all fairness, a laser blast doesn't have the dramatic effect of two people, holding each other in a tender embrace, as a gunshot sounds, and you grit your teeth in anticipation of who got shot. Okay, that never works either. But "peew!" less so. It's just a scene he was unhappy with and he elected to try and fix it. Can't blame him for that.

Hayden being a ghost isn't stupid. HAYDEN is stupid, but it's much stupider to think the Force can make you look like you would have looked if you hadn't had all your limbs cut off, your face scarred, and your hair burnt away. He DID look like Hayden before he sold his soul. He NEVER looked like a middle aged man with hair. So the young Anakin thing makes much more sense. Christ, at least it wasn't Jake Lloyd. It could have been Jake Lloyd. Aren't you happy it wasn't Jake Lloyd?

Well, I don't know about you, but I never thought about who Jabba was when I was a kid. I didn't pee my bed thinking about the terrible unseen menace of Jabba. I didn't think about who Bothans were either. Get a time machine, go back and ask me if I'd like to see Jabba in "Star Wars." Yes, fine time traveller, I would reply. I would enjoy that very much, thank you. And good day to you as well.

A bit ironic to complain about unnecessary things Lucas did, and then unnecessarily swear off watching Empire again because they showed Darth Vader getting on a spaceship.

That's like saying which form of crap would you prefer. It smells bad no matter who or what it came from.

The point is that the original version isn't great either. Egghead Vader sucks. There isn't anything particularly stupid about the Hayden change. That people don't like him now because they're old and bitter doesn't make it a filmmaking atrocity. It probably makes the most sense of all the changes.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Yoda ghost wasn't old and cross-eyed. So if his ghost was younger, why wouldn't Anakin's be? The last time he looked in the mirror was when he was whining about something or other. That's how he'd view himself. He never saw himself as an old man.
