No, you idiot, it's Swing Parade. And if you're like me, you didn't know what it was either. Well, here you are:

From IMDB at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0039003/

Carol Lawrence (Gale Storm), an aspiring singer, goes to a new night club owned by Danny Warren (Phil Regan), whose father Daniel Warren (Russell Hicks) doesn't approve of the club and wants Danny to join him in the family business. Carol is suspected of being a process server and is thrown out of the club. An extremely long arm of coincidence leads her to the elder Warren's office and he hires her as a process server. She returns but gets a singing job this time so foregoes serving the cease-and-desist notice. The Three Stooges are on hand as waiters and Connee Boswell, Louis Jordan, Will Osborne and Mary Treen provide the music and songs in addition to Gale Storn on "Oh, Buddy" and "On the Sunny Side of the Street."

"But torgos," you might be saying, "the RiffTrax catalog page says it's a Three Stooges movie."

You're right! It's not. It just happens to have the Stooges in it. I'm not sure why either. In any event, they probably weren't too proud of this effort after all was said and done, and I'm sure that's rather obvious when you see the final product. I guess that's why Mike decided to add a RiffTrax commentary to it! It's all making sense now!

Anyways we hope you all enjoy the first in what will hopefully a long line of RIffTrax Complete releases. Feel free to talk about and dissect the movie in this board, to which I'm sure many of you are already accustomed.

It's a parade of swingers, obviously.  Similar to the Swinger's Marathon, where competitors randomly switch numbers, making it a little confusing as to who actually won.

Please note that I was asking what "Swing Parade" was, not "a swing parade." The difference is vast. :)

Torgos out of curiousity what kind of availability will this dvd be in stores? Will it be available at like best buy, etc?

Not sure... it depends on the store and the movie. Honestly Legend doesn't really know until they get an order from the retailer. With any luck it'll be available all over the place, but of course prices and availability will vary.

If I hear anything, I'll let ya know.

What the hell is a "process server"?

From Wikipedia: Service of process (i.e.:process server) is the procedure employed to give legal notice to a person (defendant etc.) of a court or administrative body's exercise of its jurisdiction over that person so as to enable that person to respond to the proceeding before the court, body or other tribunal. Usually, notice is furnished by delivering a set of court documents to the person to be served.

In other words, serving summons, usually to compel someone to give testimony, or as in the case of this movie, to serve a cease an desist order/ injunction.......

Oh MY, what a horrible movie!  I can't believe Mike made us sit through a MUSICAL!!!  This was easily as bad as Mixed-Up Zombies, except there were even MORE musical numbers.  And they sucked on toast!  (No offense, Disembaudio.)  And, like, what the hell was the deal with that woman who was completely immobile from the waist down?  If she really was incapable of standing or walking, then that movement under her dress during the bench number is even creepier than I thought.  Excuse me while I shudder.  And speaking of ::shudder:: moments, I'm wondering why Mike didn't comment on the nightclub owner's dad's incredibly long, white back hair!!!

I'm traumautized, seriously...

Okay...update here...I just found out the actress who played the sitting-down singer really was paralyzed from the waist down due to a childhood accident: http://www.parabrisas.com/d_boswellc.php

And now I'm REALLY wondering about that movement under her dress!!!  OMG!

I realize that the censorship boards in 1946 would never have approved a movie with a title like "Fan Dancer Parade".  But at least that title would have been supported by the footage.  Perhaps "Swing Parade" is code.  Maybe a "Swing Parade" really means, 'a tissue-thin plot that allows us to display hotties in very skimpy outfits from time to time'.
I guess you could infer that I liked this movie.  It was a lot more visually appealing than Reign of Fire.  :-)  The Stooges actually fit pretty well, not dominating the movie.  I liked Moose a lot, sort of an Alpha Stooge, bigger, stronger, smarter than the Beta Stooges.  He was able to walk erect, form partial sentences and wrestle really, really annoying teenagers into submission.
  Ah yes.
Now, if only Mike had provided commentaries on the shorts, that would have been Extra Gold.  Perhaps a "Shorts Parade", if you will.  You can even re-use the footage of the hotties in Shorts from the film to...pad...the...length...sweet...sweet...shorts...
Apparently I need a cold shower or a hot hooker. I'll go attend to that.

Haven't had a chance to watch my copy yet, but can I assume from the almost loving description on the back of the box that they didn't want to go trashing the movie on the box in hopes that people will buy it in stores WITHOUT knowing what Rifftrax is? :^)

well, stooges in color is a prety easy sell

Pak-Man

Granted, but if you compare the description on the box of Swing Parade, and compare it to Mike's description of Daredevil, you get two very different modes of description. I was just wondering if marketing (If Rifftrax has such a department) thought it was better not to try to slam the movie on the box they were trying to sell to the unwitting consumer. :^)
