Hello all!  I am, of course, new and I'm as excited as excited can be, I must say!  I'm 20 years old; I fork over almost all of my money to Nazareth College of Rochester (although I'd go without food before RiffTrax); I'm going for a Masters in Sociology and History; and I'll try not to say anything that is so piercingly dull or stupid that you will want to hunt me down and punch me in the face.

With that said; when I found RiffTrax I leapt up and down, scared the hell out of my roommate, and grinned like an idiot for a week.
;D

Ah yes good ol' Roch-a-cha. I'm a native new Yorker myself, but live in San Diego now. I've seen at least one show that I can remember at the Water Street Music Hall.

I went to school in Oswego and my roommate here is from Fulton... caused havoc in Syracuse at least a couple times. Needless to say I'm much happier here :)

Anyways welcome to the forum. Have fun!

Question,

do you have a thick New York accent?

The reason I ask is that in the JCPenney Home Office in Plano, Texas, there are many employees who relocated from New York when the company moved its base of operations to Texas almost 20 years ago, and there are still plenty of people who haven't lost their accent in the least...

I even heard one of the executives say "Fuhgeddaboudit!"  You know what I'm talkin' about  ;)

Haha... yes I do know what yer' talkin bout.  Luckily no, I have one of the most indistinguishable accents around because I'm from upstate, north of Albany. They say that Utica (which is a couple hours west of where I grew up) is an "accent-less" place but I can't verify the truth to that story.

But yeah if you heard me talk you'd think I was from the midwest or something... I pretty much speak plain English with no twangs or weird pronunciations or anything.. except sometimes I mumble.

Leaping, which caused scaring, grinning throughout. Although, it might have been the grinning along with the leaping that scared her... I'm sure I looked like a maniac.

I do not either. I cry myself to sleep at night because my Fuhgeddaboudits are a sham.

Hello all!  I am, of course, new and I'm as excited as excited can be, I must say!

I forgot to say, nice Ed Grimley reference. It's nice to see / read those now and then :)

Well of course SCTV is where it started.. but I also think those shorts were funnier than the SNL ones. Not too sure though, I don't remember any of those but I have plenty of the SCTV episodes as well as his Totally Mental Misadventures cartoon. Ah yes, can you feel the geek emanating from your screen?

YESSSSSSS. I was reading other welcome posts and I saw that they all received said tokens. I was sad. But now, my life has been made... *waggles eyebrows*  :D

One of my favorites was The Irving Who Came to Dinner. And while the geek is certainly emanating from my screen... It completely matches the geek levels in my room. So it's all good.

Sorry about running out of The Devil Dog Cookies, though....
