Payment method change?

I was wondering if rifftrax might offer an alternative method. As it goes, "Paypal" tends to be dubious at best, and when I run a search on it I keep turning up all sorts of customer horror stories along the lines of "I signed up with paypal to order a used VHS tape of Paper Chase, and I got a bill for $296,909 and fourty hectares of land, and I now I'm in a debtor's prison in south Brazil. I got this message online by tapping it in morse code to some helpful spider monkeys. Please get U.N. aid to this area, tell my husband Clive I love him, and whatever you do, DON'T USE PAYPAL!"

Are these concerns groundless? I'm not sure. My cocaine-like addiction to all things MST3K is to powerful for me to hesitate, but an alternate payment method would make me feel more secure. Also I hear Brazil is going through its buggiest wet season ever.

Brazil is cool. They have a pretty decent metal scene there..

Anyways PayPal does allow you to pay with your credit card, just look on the bottom half of the screen. I believe it says "Don't have a PayPal account?" and a button for you to push with some logos near it.

Also we are working on a better system of managing payments... if you can bear with us for the time being, and use PayPal (or the PayPal Credit Card system) the result will be worth the wait!

Someone on here had a really good term for the paypal "horror stories" that are prevalent on line, and I've forgotten it.  Something about fear and people being really loud about it.

I wouldn't worry about using paypal to pay for rifftrax in the slightest.  Googling "paypal sucks" will get you no more a rational or thought out argument than googling "star wars sucks" or "ps3 sucks".

Everyone I know has a paypal account, heck I think everyone on EARTH has a paypal account.  I've been scammed once by someone and I paid with paypal.  I ended up getting my money back.  It was a slow process, but they did hold their part of the deal.

Of the hundreds of paypal transactions I've done and the hundreds my friends and family have done, I'd say they've never been at fault.  The stories of their horribleness are greatly exaggerated (and I've had an account since they started).
mike5150 how tall are you?.....in gallons?

Famous last words  ;)

Have you checked your PayPal account yet today?

...just joking...

(I bet you check it anyway, just to be sure  ;D )

I have had a Paypal account that comes from my checking account for 4 years and never had a problem whatsoever.

I've been ripped off twice on ebay for about $300 each time and never had any problems getting the money back through paypal. Paypal makes the internet go round as far as I'm concerned, long live paypal!

Agree'd!

PayPal is too easy to use. I hope that whatever changes RiffTrax makes with their payment system, that they continue to keep using PayPal too?

99% of the people who have issues with PayPal are the very same people who sign contracts without reading them then balk when held to the terms of the unread agreement.

I have been a PayPal customer since it was X.com, and have never had an issue (knock on wood)
