Sorry, I had to give it a five. After having seen a dozen or so rifftrax now, this was the least funny so far. I was really anticipating the guys just ripping this movie apart, but by the end I felt like they had kinda phoned this one in. I've never seen or read any of the harry potter stuff as I typically avoid anything and everything popular. My motto is, If the masses like it, it must be crap. So I was really looking forward to HP getting a new one ripped by the guys. I even convinced the most dedicated HP fan I know to watch it with us. She has a sense of humor about her rampant fandom though (she's read some really bad HP fan fiction -eww), so even she was looking forward to it (the last one we watched with her was Batman and Robin, possibly the worst movie ever, or top ten at least). But even she was disappointed and said she felt a little insulted that Mike and the guys had not really done as much as they could, like HP fans weren't worthy of a good riffing. Still, we plan to watch Chamber of Secrets with her in a couple weeks and I hope the guys really dug in a bit more. (first she wants to see E-ragon with us, which she already knows is a crap movie and book. E-ragon is definately my fav riff so far.)

I will say though, my friend the HP fanatic, said after the riff that she had seen Sorcerer's stone ten times and had never realized how crappy it was. She had been blinded by her fanaticism but thanks to the rifftrax she now saw that it was two and a half freakin hours of nothing. A smidge of dialogue, 3 seconds of action and a pod-race-esque scene, plus two hours of walking around. For that, I'll give a little extra cudos to the team, for destroying one fans view of the first movie! (though she was reluctant to admit the book was bad also)

Just finished watching this.  Wow.  Talk about the guys bringing their A game.  This was really fun and amazing to hear some fantastic jokes.  I wanna give it a solid 10, but I'm gonna let it sink a bit till I officially rank my vote.  It's sooo long that it hurts repeat viewings.  So it's really hard to criticize that way.  I can't see the guys doing any better than what they did here tho.  I wish I could watch it more often... but, it's just that time length thing.  Glad to see so many people agree on the high rating.  Currently, the 10s outnumber anything else with a tie for 9 and 8.

The reason it took me so long is cuz I'm not a big HP fan.  I'll watch and enjoy them, but the guys gotta really deliver for me to spend another 3 hrs with it.  And indeed they deliver.

Also, some brilliant references.  This has to be the highest ratio of great references of any MST3k/RT I've seen where they caught me by utter shock, surprise and delight.  Who else could you pull off a Damoncles joke followed right after by jab at Rob Schneider and then a quick Simpsons reference?  Love it.  Love it.  Love it.
