I loved the hell out of Over The Edge. The Ben Folds music helped, but regardless I thought it was funny, smart, sweet, and most importantly fun. All that from the studio that dumped a steaming pile of Shrek on the world? Weird.

Cars, on the other hand, was overlong and preachy. Not Pixar's best, but miles ahead of anything else Disney has to offer.

Agreed on Cars. I'd rather sit through ten viewings of Cars than to watch Shark Tale or anything Dreamworks has made for that matter.

Dam, I can be such an oddball in this forum, but I liked shark tale too... How do you'all feel about my favorite animated-kids feature Ants? *braces self for another forum let down*

Shrek series for me in regards to 3D stuff
J to the Pizzo
P to the Jizzay...

Ants was all right. It was an early entry in the CGI race, so it gets some originality points. (although it did come out suspiciously close to Bugs Life) It's not the best, but it's not a cookie cutter.

loved shrek too, another one I loved was Little Red Ridding Hood (title?) ... maybe I should just list the two I hated :)

1. Monster House
2. Bugs Life (Ants was first, copy cats... well they were close to the sametime though... another hollywood mystery)

There are also a few of them I haven't seen but probably wouldnt like such as, James and the Peach, Robots, I forget the rest... there are so many now days

When James and the Giant Peach was playing in my town, they put it up on the billboard as "James and the Gaint Peach'

My bro and friends would joke about "Gaint" for a while...then it got old and stupid and we never mentioned it again.

I hate you.    ;)

Monster House was fun! And it looked cool.
A Bug's Life was much more fun than Ants(though much less "adult" in nature), and looked 1,000 times better.

p.s. I believe you're thinking of "Hoodwinked"(little red riding hood)

Giant Peach is stop motion, and is delightfully trippy. :^)

I always thought Tim Burton was involved with Giant Peach somehow??

He's credited as a producer, but didn't have much of a hand in the movie, as I understand it. It was made hot on the heels of Nightmare Before Christmas, but didn't do as well.

SQUAAAWK!  Red Dawn!  Red Dawn!  SQUAAAWK!
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

Who is your favorite captain anyway? Mine's a tossup between Sparrow and Barbossa.

Undoubtedly Barbossa.

Geoffrey Rush just oozes awesomeness in this role. He's much more convincing as the type of figure who could command the obedience of his crew. Funny thing is, Rush is quite scrawny. Sure, he's fairly tall, but he has little to no physical strength. Yet, Barbossa is one badass mofo!

Yeah, he does the same thing in Elizabeth.  He's just this complete badass, guy-you-don't-wanna-fuck with persona.

Pak-Man

Barbosa's definitely the piratier pirate, but Sparrow's got the lucky-outlaw thing going on, and he's funny. Gotta go with Jack. :^)

Monster House was SO great, it reminded me of Gremlins and Goonies.  A horror movie for kids, the 3D thing pushed it over thr edge, so much fun.

- how I read any complaint about MST3k (or Star Wars or Ghostbusters)

For most of the film, I was wondering why the film was in 3D.
Then the Then it clicked.   ;D
