GEORGE Lucas has confirmed Harrison Ford will reprise his role as Indiana Jones in a fifth film about the fictional adventurer - just as soon as moviemakers think of something worthy enough for the character to dig up.

The fourth film in the famous franchise, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, was released earlier this year.

And a sequel will be on its way soon enough.

Lucas reveals, "We're looking for a MacGuffin, which is an object that he goes after.

"They're very hard to come by!"

As to whether Indy will be joined by his on-screen wife and son from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Lucas adds: "It really depends on what it is Indy goes looking for and then how the story falls out of that, and then how convenient or inconvenient to have the group there."

Okay, Everybody....so what should Indy search for in the next film?   Besides a cure for cancer as Bill mentions in the Riff.

How about the lost note book containing proof George had it all planned out in 12 movies ;)

Actually I'll get back to you on a cool thing to look for.

In related news "Area man takes hammer to his own head.".

They should just do Atlantis.  Sure, it was done in a game, but that doesn't make it a bad idea.

It was an awesome game.  That's what the series needs to return to: punching Nazis in the face.

Nazis in the late 1950's?   [max, the blue meanie] "Argentina?" [/max, the blue meanie]

In the latest installment of the Indy series, Indy begins the search for a perfect family plot in: Indiana Jones and the Perfect Non-Sectarian Cemetary!

Well, they could do what they did with the previous one: substitute Germans for Russians.  Easy bad guy fodder! :)

Excalibur is a good idea though.

Lilibet was just into her reign in the '50s somebody wielding the sword of the true king of England might be a bit of a concern.

Tripe

How about Mjöllnir, that nice and potentially b-movieish.

Maybe some resurgent NAZIs want it to regain power.

RoninFox

You and your Nazis...though it would be kind of funny to make it a definite pattern of having Nazis in every other movie.

Maybe something either Rasputin related (nice Russian elements there) or Chinese (oh those Russians, can't get along with the Chinese what will their rivalry breed?) then.

The latter would provide some cute little Asian love interest for the son of Indy.

Haven't seen it.

Hell maybe even the philosophers stone, seeing how the last MacGuffin was featured in the second of the Librarian movies in the precredit sequence. ;)

mrbasehart

I saw the third Librarian movie the other day, actually.  It was fun, and good lord, that woman was hot.
