I started a thread like this a couple months ago, but you have my permission to start another one as I think people have now had enough time to "revise" their lists.

Here's the link for those that want to copy and paste their old lists (and probably revise them).

I still haven't seen all of the supposedly "good" movies released this year, but (in no particular order) here's the best I can do:

1. Children of Men
2. Flags of our Fathers (looking forward to Letters...)
3. Gwoemul (The Host)
4. An Inconvenient Truth
5. The Last King of Scotland
6. Crank
7. Clerks II
8. Monster House
9. Inside Man
10. Superman Returns

I also really enjoyed the extended version of Kingdom of Heaven, which was released this year.  Let's go all out with the lists, shall we?

The biggest disappointments were:

1. Black Dahlia
2. Art School Confidential
3. Talladega Nights
4. Nacho Libre

I was pleasantly surprised by:

1. Aquamarine
2. She's the Man
3. DOA: Dead or Alive
4. The Nativity Story

And the worst films released this year:

1. Ultraviolet
2. The Pink Panther
3. See No Evil
4. Stay Alive

I'm just lucky I was paid to watch almost all of these films.   ;D

I've been working on my top ten, but it's been challenging because 2006 was a pretty lackluster year.  Also, there's some movies that I have yet to see.  Nonetheless, here's what I got so far:

1. A Scanner Darkly
2. Children of Men
3. Brick
4. The Fountain
5. Stranger Than Fiction
6. The Departed
7. Mission: Impossible III
8. Lady in the Water
9. The Descent (it was released in the states in 2006)
10. Casino Royale

Honorable mentions:
Little Miss Sunshine, Clerks II, X-Men 3, V for Vendetta, Edmond, The Da Vinci Code, Running Scared (I never thought I would say this, but Paul Walker is GOOD in this movie.)

Dishonorable mentions:
Superman Returns, The Proposition, Tideland

Movies I have yet to see that have potential:
Flags of our Fathers
Letters From Iwo Jima
Pan's Labrynith
The Good Shepard
Apocalypto
Babel

2. Inland Empire

I refuse to see Inland Empire, I despise David Lynch films. (Sorry Andrew1911)
Heated Seats iRiffs: Touched by an Angel | Marked for Death | Runaway | Heated Shorts (shorts collection)

I am not good at making top ten lists but I don't mind putting together a honorable mention list!

The Fountain: amazing film.
Casino Royale: the return of Bond baby!

I'll add more later.
