The most interesting of those is Snyder doing The Illustrated Man. We haven't seen him take on a text before, just movie remakes and graphic novel adaptions. I wonder if he's even capable of turning words into images?

Relaxing Dragon

I notice The Thing is not on the list, have they stopped with that remake/prequel/sequel/whatever?

And I for one am optimistic about a new Ghostbusters, I think they an get something good out of it.

Plastic Self-Cleaning Duck

They've been threatening re-makes of Creature of the Black Lagoon and Forbidden Planet since I last lived in Miami....that was in 2000.

As far as anything by Ray Bradbury or someone of that ilk being remade?  The studios will cut the balls off the stories like they did with Planet of the Apes.

Hope I'm wrong. I was wrong about the Star Wars Holiday Special being pulled right after the Rifftrax came out and called attention to it being online.  I admit that and I'm glad.   ;)

The sad thing about this is there's so many other scripts that could be made into great movies. We don't need a Terminator remake when it only came out 24 years ago :-\

Quote"Robocop" If the Terminator can get tuned up for a revival, why not that other 1980s mechanical hero? After several fits and starts, MGM announced in March that a reboot of "Robocop" would be in theaters in 2010. Darren Aronofsky ("The Wrestler," "Requiem for a Dream") is directing the remake of Paul Verhoeven's bloody movie about a Detroit cop who is gunned down but then put back on patrol as a cyborg with troubled soul.

W-w-w-w-w-w-w-what!?!?!?!

As a huge fan of the original Robocop movie and Aronofsky's films (Pi rulez) I don't know what to think of this.

I'm flabbergasted. Who's idea was this? It could be awesome or the dumbest movie ever made.

Dude...

Robocop.

Dude, it's the Batman & Robin factor. You can't make a RoboCop movie worse than the last one. (Shitty Canadian versions count too: "Come oat with your hands up.")

I dunno...

Aranofsky has a taste for the disturbing (rotten arm / sweatpuke potato / double-ender scenes in Requiem for a Dream).

And ED-209 is pretty disturbing...

But that was stop-motion models, I think, and they will probably CGI it up and make it look all Ironman. It could suck as badly as Canadian Robocop or worse.

Yeah, I knew I saw something. Here.

That almsot makes it sound like an adaption of the London stage hit Return to the Forbidden Planet, which is a classic rock musical.
