On a vaguely related note, my first convention was a Botcon where, as a surprise, they rented a theatre and showed Transformers: The Movie on the big screen for the first time in almost 20 years. It was a magical moment. A theatre packed with 20-35 year olds feeling like 10 year olds. :^)

To tie that back into this, I have a feeling those lucky enough to see a riffing live will feel a similar magic in the air. (But maybe with less regression.) :^)

Yeah, he worked at a movie theater.

So any predictions for the Rifftrax Live movie?  My prediction is Batman and Robin.  It's the one big name bad movie they haven't done yet, even by their standards.  This would be the perfect opportunity to do it.

There may or may not be a RiffTrax released in the interim; as I mentioned (and others have stated) we are working on the live event along with our usual daily interests.

Has there been any talk of this being released afterwards as a rifftrax?  Pretty please...?

It wouldn't be anywhere near as special then, would it? Maybe it's a one-time only Rifftacular Event-o-Rama!

Lot's of comedians release live DVDs, it doesn't make their show less special, if anything it makes it MORE special to those who go, they can tell their friends, "I saw that live!"

It could be really cool if you could somehow record it live and include the laugh track and have a special "Live" Rifftrax, maybe?

Also, will there be a 20 questions to guess the movie being riffed, or are the audience supposed to walk in unaware?

Of course he does. Torgo's Pizza was once one of us - a lowly Riffaholic elevated to a position of power above us, now gleefully taunting us hungry geeks with a delcious RiffTrax pie just out of our reach.

Yes, but how many comedians' shows have 2 hours of copyrighted material that they don't/cannot own the rights to?  How usable would a "live" rifftrax be anyway. Unless they are sitting in a sound proof box you would probably get so much bleed through of movie sounds, audience sounds that it would sound like crap.  The best thing to hope for is that later on down the road they record and release a regular Rifftrax for whatever film they choose for the live event. Much like the way they did This Island Earth on MST3K.
