Hi guys,

I think the House on Haunted Hill VOD divx you just uploaded is broken.

I downloaded it and when I try to play it DivX player and VLC both say the index is broken.

I let VLC reindex it and the movie cuts out at 55:22.

I'll let you know if I have any trouble with the others, but that one seems problematic.

That is strange. I'm going to re-upload the file but it's going to take a couple hours.

It does look like something happened to the file, luckily that seems to be the only one affected. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

(I'll let you know when the file is officially "done")

thesciphishow

No worries. Thanks for that.

Have you considered posting MD5 checksums to go with the files ?

Would make them easier to check.

Yeah. and I have done that in the past, because at one point we were having issues with our upstream. This is the first time in probably... 10 months that we've had an issue, though.

I had a poll a while back about posting the md5 but it got voted down (also got voted down in-house). I'll look into that again - I think it's another one of those cases of "the right people getting it"... where it's good to have it for those who know what it's for, and those who don't know can just ignore it.

thesciphishow

Maybe you only need the MD5's for the big VOD files ? They are the ones that are a killer to download and difficult to check.

Redownloading one of the mp3 packs hurts a lot less.

Also, resume for those files doesn't seem to work.

Yes,

Yes,

And I know. Resume is a lot harder than we expected but it is a feature we're working on.

The new file should be up now.

Sweet; If you have trouble let me know. I'm going to potentially put the "resume-friendly" downloads task back to a high priority, since we are going to be adding yet more shorts in the coming days and weeks... so having that would be handy, I know. We'll let everyone know once that becomes a feature...

thesciphishow

Yay :)

BTW, Carnival of Souls, NOTLD, Missle to the Moon and Little Shop of Horrors all seem to come down fine and they ran ok (although I just scanned through them a bit rather than acutally watched them).

Good to hear.

Also check the "Announcements" board - you can now Resume interrupted downloads.
