Paramount was thinking of us re-authoring Rifftraxers when they put out the Special Collector's Edition of the Top Gun DVD. I just picked it up for $10 at Best Buy today and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was two discs. I'll be taking out the "Special" Features disc and slipping in my reauthored RiffTrax ready disc. I don't think I'll be watching the making of Top Gun more than once.  :)

It's amazing that all these crappy 80s flicks are readily available...

in 2 disc "Special Editions" no less!

Like all the Tom Cruise/Navy aficionados have been clamoring for a rerelease  ;)

Its probably because theres fans of these crappy 80's movies. Not that im one of them. But i have seen this many times before the Rifftraxing. In the 80's these movies where a dime a dozen. You know like Iron Eagle & The Rescue. What was it with kids saving there fathers form Middle east installations in the 80's. So as one who lived through the 80's. Its all apart of the chessiness of the decade.

I'll take crappy '50s or '60s movies any day. Top Gun is unbearable.

The 80's was a watershed of cheesy movies and especially of rip offs. It was the dawn (and height really) of the direct to video market. All your aspiring Roger Corman's could never get a theatrical release, but by golly, if you had some artwork and moving pictures, you had a video release!

I for one love 80's movies, especially cheesy ones. Of course, it is a generational thing.
Grapes? I hate grapes, I can't stand grapes. I loathe grapes. All kinds of grapes. I hate green grapes and I hate purple grapes. I hate grapes with seeds, I hate grapes without seeds. I hate them peeled and nonpeeled. I hate them in bunches, one at a time and in small groups of twos and threes.

Maybe it is, but you gotta admit that Kelly Mcgillis is pretty easy on the eyes. ;D

I haven't seen Top Gun since it was in theaters and I was just a kid (I would have been 7).  I just remember crying and wanting to go home.  I think it was because of the loud airplanes (we saw it in this great dome theater with the best speakers ever) but maybe I knew even then what Tom Cruise was to become.

I haven't seen it since but since I was convinced to actually purposefully watch Cocktail, I may someday venture into Top Gun territory.  It's been quite a while since I cried and pleaded to go home in a movie theater.  Thank goodness I didn't see "Crossroads" when it was released.  :)

Actually, I was surprised at how plain she was. I remembered her as fairly hot from...well, wherever I saw her back in the day, but not while actually watching the movie. Maybe it's the supremely wooden performance that does it (since personality is a huge factor in attractiveness to me). Then again, maybe it's just the frizzzzy hair.

her teeth kinda stood out, maybe it was just the odd smile.
