Doctor Who?

Hey does anyone know the name of the actor who play the police man who stays in the room with the Joker and then get held hostage?

I think i have seen him in something else but i can't place him and it keeps bugging me.

Doctor Who?

Thanks for that.

Wow he has done a lot of video games and TV.

I think it must be 24 I am remembering him form.

I wonder what the correct pronounciation of his last name is.

Yeah, kind of hard to become a Household Name when people call you "Mr. Whatzit"

I remember him the most as being the vampire hunter Holtz from the TV show Angel.

Tripe

Get out, that's him (didn't follow the link wasn't all that interested until that little titbit)?

Hmm...don't know why, but I can't read that without picturing Arnold Schwarzenegger saying it in one of the Terminator movies.
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

Are you Sara Bike-ah!

Yeah, it works.   ;D

Well I haven't posted here in months due to night shift work and a new computer that needed setting up but I am finally able to post....and its something completely trivial...

Hate to drag the thread back on topic but a minor detail about Ledger's performance that shows he was being a bit OCD and aced the acting part of the role...
And forgive me if I am a Captain Obvious, but I kept being distracted by his mouth during the movie and then last week I went to the dentist and realized why. He kept puffing out his bottom lip and licking it while he was talking ...just like I did after I left the dentist while my mouth was still frozen. My guess is he was trying to portray the effects of the nerve damage from the scars. How cool is that?

Of course I could be completely off-base but it was sooo damn distracting  :)
In theory, practice and theory are the same. In practice, they aren't.

Cool I thought I was the only one who thought that.  :highfive:  Yes I though also about the possible obstruction scar tissue would make in his mouth.

Glad I am not alone. And here I was worried about inappropriate Brokeback Mountain references due to my distraction  :-[.

Doctor Who?

I watched again yesterday and am I the only one who think this film should win best film editing?

I have never seen a movie cut quite like this one before.

Don't know how i missed it the first three time a saw it but the editing blew me away.

Anything specific you can name about that?

Because - while I agree it was cut well - I don't know that there was anything innovative about it.  Or maybe I just missed it.

Besides the sentence, "I have never seen a movie cut quite like this one before" could also be used for the film Devil Fish, remember?  Not necessarily a good thing.  ;)

In fact, I remember during the opening of The X Files: I Want to Heave that the cutting back and forth between the woman being chased at night through the snow and then to the police checking the snow the next day made me think of a riff from Devil Fish - "Just because you can edit doesn't mean you should..."

Doctor Who?

Well it was lots of little things like the way they just cut from the scene to scene and just the way everything always seemed movie so that it didn't feel like i was watching a 2 1/2 hour movie.

I love the cutting at the end of the movie the way it just cuts to the credits at the end is great.

I think i will have to watch it at home before i can be more precise.

Sorry i know i am not being very helpful but io can remember the scenes well enough to remember what it was about the editing that blew me away all i can remember is being blown away.

Sorry.
