The Dark Knight (SPOILERS)

[BBQ Platypus]

Personally, I don't think the "adjusted for inflation" totals have much merit.  Ticket prices have increased FASTER than inflation, and there are a number of other factors that make it unfair to compare today's films with those of other decades.  I mean, there was no VHS back when Gone With the Wind was in theaters.  If you wanted to see it again, you went to the theater (and why not? Tickets were certainly cheap enough).  As a result, movies had longer legs at the box office.  Also, movies were cheaper to make (even when adjusted for inflation), due to the fact that actors were paid less and fewer effects were available.

So really, it's like comparing apples to oranges.

[GregMcduck]

Really, I don't know why people care so much about the money it makes at all. It doesn't show one way or the other of the quality of the film.

[Doctor Who?]

I just hate Titanic.

[Tripe]

How about if the cast and crew of TDK went round to Celine's house and egged the fecker?

[Doctor Who?]

That would be great.

[BBQ Platypus]
