This is the place for questions you have about movies that don't fit into any relevant thread.

Examples:

First, from X-Men 3- In this movie, Storm tells Rogue that she shouldn't get the Mutant Cure, and be happy as she is. This was a hot, exotic looking woman with control over the elements telling a girl with powers that prevent her from ever having anything resembling traditional sex with anyone that she should be glad evolution kicked her in the face. Was this an intentional irony on the part of the director, or was it a badly placed "give Halle more lines, as she demanded," edit that originally belonged to the hairy guy, the guy with uncontrollable laser eyes, or the cripple?

Second, from Matrix 3- What the hell happened? How did Neo win? Did the Matrix just use him to overload Smith? Or what?

First, X-Men 3 was a poor excuse for a comic book movie and should be shunned.

Second, The Matrix started off with a bang and went limp faster than my Johnson at an old folks home. There's no point in questioning stupidity.

I thought Storm was such an ego bitch in all three movies. I wanted to smack her upside the head with a pipe.

As for the Matrix 3... Well, I don't know, really. I highly wait to see what ConfusedMatthew as to say about it.

Ok, I have a question:  in the movie Grease 2, all throughout rehearsals for the talent show, Michael is playing the piano.  HOWEVER, on the very night of the talent show, Michael, in the guise of the mysterious "Cool Rider," must flee from the school with the angry T-Birds hot on his heels, and leaps his motorcycle across an ill-placed gorge just behind the school.  The Cool Rider is missing and presumed dead, and, one assumes, so is Michael.  So then, who in the world is playing the piano the night of the talent show?  Because, they did a great job on short notice.

Any suitably trained musician can play any musical piece you stick in front of them and sound great doing it the first time out. Musicians who actually put a bit of feeling behind their playing are even better at this, because they make it sound like they've been playing the piece for years.

Don't get me wrong - that's a HUGE plot hole that is a disgrace to filmmaking. I'm just sayin', theoretically, anyone could have stood in. :)

My primary problem with X-Men 3 is that all the women in the movie are plot meat. Nothing they do serves any purpose other than to hit needed plot points.

I wonder if skynet is aware of Time Paradoxes? If the Terminator was successful in eliminating Sarah Connor, than there would be no John Connor. . No John Connor, and no reason to build the time machine to send back the Terminator. There is also another theory, that they aren't traveling through time, but to another dimension. If that's the case though, they aren't changing time, just the other timeline, meaning they can't change their fate by traveling through time. Complicated huh?  ;)

The real question is was skynet designed with paradox-absorbing crumple zones?

In This Is Spinal Tap, is Nigel Tufnel in love with David St. Hubbins, or does he just plain dislike Jeanine?

I think he had a thing going with Viv Savage, actually.

Do we know for a fact that the time machine was built only for sending back the Terminator?  Or was this something people were working on anyway?

If it's the former then you do have that "paradox" that they were trying to set up in that god-awful remake of The Time Machine - that the scientist couldn't save his fiance by going back in time since the minute he saved her, his reason for building it went away.  So, each time he went back and saved her from the mugger (I'm doing you a favor...don't watch this film) she got killed some other way.

Only if the writer - and therefore the character - had any brains he would see that what was necessary was to go back, save her from the mugger, drag her back to the time machine, bring her forward to after he'd built it and then she'd be alive and the reason for building the machine would be preserved .....and they wouldn't have had to make that freaking, god-awful movie!!!!

Okay...just a theoretical question about another screw-up of a HG Wells story - the whole solenoid thing from the Cruise version of War of the Worlds....

Forgetting the fact that there is more than one freaking solenoid in a car or truck....I mean, yeah you change it in the starter but then what about the one that tells the transmission that you've stepped on the brake pedal and therefore you can take it out of park and all the other ones in the car that wouldn't work (not being a smartass, I just listen to "Car Talk" on NPR a lot)...and if one gets cooked, they're all done...right?   And when was the last time you had something fixed on your car that they didn't have to have the parts driven over from the supplier....?

If the solenoid in the car was just spontaneously fried where it stood, then wouldn't all the solenoids sitting on the shelf be burned out and useless, too?  I mean if whatever this was effected them it would effect them wherever they were, right?

Unless the car had to be running at the time of the "storm" for the solenoid to get cooked.  Well, if that's the case, then wouldn't that mean that ANY CAR THAT WASN'T RUNNING during the "storm" would be working fine because it would have undamaged solenoids?

God, that was a stupid movie (which I wouldn't care if it hadn't caused a CGI version of "Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds" to be canceled and that abortive syndicated TV show to be released on DVD).
