Obvious what will win, but I still voted for my favorite.

You poor thing.  How do you survive when everyone is out to get you?  How do you suffer all these fools?

Wow and I thought I was relatively safe with that post too. From now on maybe I should just vote for what I want and watch the movie I want and just say I agree with the safe answer? or would that still be the equivalent of me punching you in the nads? Either way, I'm sure I will now be blamed for "trolling" this thread or something of the like, even though my first post was a simple "Obvious what will win, but I still voted for my favorite."
Round about now! Since they say! I am the sexiest man in Jamaica!

Life of Brian, hands down. It's become a tradition of mine to watch it on Christmas.

How do you put "The Bright Side of Life" before "Up There" and vice versa? Its and impossiblity in terms!

I went with South Park.  I thought the messages that Pak talked about were very well put together and I thought Life of Brian was the worst of the Monty Python movies.  When I cast my vote I expected the margin to be bigger than 5 votes, so that's something.

Oh, that's not what the stupid parents who brought their little ones to this movie thought.  And trust me, there were plenty of them who brought their little ones to this movie.

Oh that's the exact same experience I had, a whole row of teeny tiny kids brought by idiot parents. And the scene with the parents scattering from the theatre in the movie was reflected in exactly the same thing happening in the auditorium where I watched the film.

Oh and I voted for Brian.

What is the deal with stupid parents?  If you're stupid enough to bring your children to the R-Rated South Park movie, you shouldn't be allowed to have children.  Nor should the guy who brought his kids to see Saw 4 last October opening night.  The kids were crying.

Those people are worse than the ones who won't police their kids.  There's letting your tween run around during the entire run of Dark Knight (which happened to me last night), and then there's terrifying your little one.  Has common sense just lost out to the fact that a kid's movie ticket is cheaper than a babysitter for the night?

On a lighter note, my dad's still very fond of the memory of a single mother with her toddler sitting up close to the screen to see Gremlins in the theater.  Every time he tells the story, the number of kids changes (he had it up to eight at one point), but every time, the family never lasts too much longer past the Gremlin blowing up in the microwave.  The family gets up and starts walking off, and dad's friend next to him yells out, "HEY!  DOWN IN FRONT!", just to be a dickweed.

My parents went together to see Alien in theaters.  They told me some idiot brought a five year old girl to that movie.  Soon as the chestburster scene came around suddenly they're running after their kid who is screaming her head off and is halfway to the parking lot before anyone can even stand up.

Yeesh... I agree. This was a tougher choice than I thought it would be at first blush. It definitely seems that LoB is a far superior movie, but that South Park movie and the show are both really sharp and funny and I love them because I agree with most of what they say. The Biggest Douchebag in the Universe is one of the greatest half-hour of TV I've had the privilege to watch (primarily because cold reading endlessly fascinates me). The music in South Park is also great, which blew me away when I first saw it. However, at the end of the day, it isn't Python and it isn't blasphemous. And, though they both have Eric Idle, only one of them has John Cleese.

I do remember when I went to see South Park in the theater. Next to me was a 14-year old girl and her mother. It was funny because of what the movie was about. However, I felt really uneasy when Saddam pulled out that dildo, which was just a picture of a penis. I don't mind that a mother took her young daughter to see a filthy movie, but I just don't want to sit next to the child while male genitalia is being flashed. Guess I'm more old-fashioned than I thought.
