In that cases lets do this in a few years when people get over comic book movies and stop saying they are ultimate Batman fan boys without knowing why Mark Hamil should have been Joker in the upcoming movie.

Oooookay.  I really hope you're joking about Mark Hamil.

Anyway, your whole "when people get over comic book movies" stance seems bizarre.  A good movie is a good movie regardless of the source material.    I enjoy Tim Burton's Batman movie just as much now as I did when I first saw it.  And I'm sure I'll like it just as much 20 years from now.  Same goes with Batman Begins.  I doubt I'll be "getting over them."

Hamil did the voice of the Joker in The Batman cartoons. To this date the best Joker.

So, because he did a good Joker voice in an animated cartoon he should have gotten the live action role of The Joker in The Dark Knight?  Fuzzy logic there.

Well then he should have been Wolverine, because Mark Hamill voiced the wolverine character in some video games. Seems like perfect logic to me James.

Yeah if only The Joker wore something on his face. I don't know what though. Hmm....mask? glasses? make up? na, Joker will always bee a young looking dude and that only. You guys are smart.

while he is the best joker voice, I can't really picture him as a live action Joker, same goes for Kevin Michael Richardson

Haha!

I never said anything about his looks.  But way to assume!

I just don't see why you think he'd have the physical acting chops to pull of a real, live action Joker.  Yes, he has the voice for it.  But other than that?  Not much.  Besides, his portrayal of the The Joker on the cartoon was lighthearted.  It's not nearly as dark as The Dark Knight's version of The Joker will be.  So, really, why should he have been the one to play The Joker in The Dark Knight?  I'm curious.

I disagree. To me, a movie is all about how it can impact you. Roger Rabbit has had more impact to me than any other movie I've ever seen. Maybe I was just the right age when it came out, or maybe it had just exactly the message I needed, but it taught me a very valuable lesson about the value of laughter and bringing joy to others that helped shape my outlook on life as a whole and form the personality that I have today.

I'd agree with you to a certain extent - I felt the same way about Roger Rabbit when I was a kid - but does it still hold up for you? A great movie should be something that's great forever, not just when you were a kid.
It does, actually. I still pop in the DVD when I want to refresh my outlook. Then again, I've never been the type to "outgrow" something. I tend to hold on to the things that made things special to me.

Of course I have.  I have the first few seasons on DVD.

Like I said, his portrayal of The Joker is very lighthearted compared to The Dark Knight's version of The Joker.  But if you don't want to answer my question regarding why you think Mark Hamill should be The Joker in The Dark Knight, that's perfectly fine.   :)

In the cartoon, the Joker escapes prison using a rocket disguised as a christmas tree.

Really don't think that's the direction Nolan's going with this.

DarthChimay

I will say that Hamill is the only actor I've seen so far (not having seen Ledger's performance yet, mind you) that got the Joker's laugh absolutely correct.

Still, though I would kinda have liked to see him in the upcoming movie, I have a feeling it would've been a bit too weird. Sure, there's no real reason that the Joker can't be 20 years older than Batman, but I don't think people would've bought it. I know I wouldn't have. Every time the Joker would show up, it would be exactly like that scene in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, where they freeze frame on him and pop "Look kids! It's Mark Hamill!" up on the screen.
