What i am saying is this.  A movie worth shouldnt be judged on how much you merely enjoyed it.  If thats all it was then whatever movie was enjoyed the most wins therefore the one that sells the most is most likely the best.  I feel that a movie (like books and music) might have some intrinsic values that go beyond like.  the debate will be pretty bland if this is merely what movie do you like.  but "what movie is better?" (example spiderman versus the seven samurai) might have more to weigh than that.  ie writing directing acting cinematography, gripping etc.  i can watch a movie and relize how good it is ENTIRELY without enjoying it.

QuoteWhat I pointed out were MY CRITERIA, and you were taking this as some kind of blanket statement for all of the cosmos throughout eternity.

for the record thats usually how i do things.

this poll is as i understand it decided.  Im just here for the conversation.  It seems that you are voting based PURELY on your emotional reaction to the movie.  I am trying to argue why i feel this to be inadequate (if there was some confusion as to what was going on).

some of my favorite movies are not because I enjoy watching them but becasue they pick me up rip out my heart and leave me bleeding on the sidewalk.  i enjoy movies for the emotions that they bring and enjoyment is of course a strong one but anger and fear and heartbreak are equally valid.  while I love star wars for providing me with a great time in childhood and today, I feel its not the best star wars movie so I gave my vote to tkam which is a extremely powerful movie especially considering when it came out.

And to think, things wouldn't have ended this way if I hadn't voted for "Football in the Groin."

But which were you thinking of with that vote, the original classic Mole Man version, or the overblown "Special Edition" with George C Scott?

Mole Man shot first, damnit!
