Hello,

I just recently joined, and before I do anything that might be a mistake I need to ask. First off I know you can download the movies online, but don't know how to do that. I tried clicking on the download section, but it takes me to a viewing of the introduction video of RiffTrax. I'll keep trying to see how I can download, but just thought I would ask in case I am to stupid to figure it out, lol. Also I wanted to buy the Star Wars 3, but when I clicked buy it took me to amazon.com to buy the movie there, will I still get it with RiffTrax? Or will it be just like buying the movie normally? Cause I don't want to do that, and I am just afraid if I buy it I won't get it with the funny comments in it. Yes I feel stupid right now, but I am new to this, and before I make a mistake I want to know. Thanks!

With the exception of a few Video On Demand titles (which are the shorts, and several of the older movies, and the new Star Trek New Voyages riff) when you buy Rifftrax, you're buying an MP3 file of the commentary.  You provide the movie yourself.  The link you clicked took you to the amazon page so you could order the DVD, then go back to rifftrax.com and buy and download the sound file.  Then you play them both at the same time (instructions are on the MP3 itself, and are a lot easier than you'd think.)

Thank you so much for your help! I'll be doing that now.

Steve-O

If you don't mind watching the RiffTrax on your computer, the process can be eased considerably by using the RiffTrax Player.  This is a special program that plays the DVD and automatically syncs up the commentary for you.  All you do is press play, sit back, and laugh your butt off.

Unfortunately, Revenge of the Sith is one of those few titles that can't be used with the RiffTrax Player (yet).  To see whether the track you want to buy is RiffTrax Player-compatible, look under the "Add to Cart" button on the product page and check to see whether the "RIFF" button is lit up.  If it is, you can use the player; if not, you'll have to sync up the audio the old-fashioned way.

By the way, welcome aboard!

Glad I could help.  Steve-O's suggestion is good too, I'm watching Troll 2 on the Rifftrax Player as I type this.  Welcome, and enjoy.

Hey, thanks guys once again for your help. I have it all figured out now, heh, now I feel really stupid that I had thought I was downloading the movie to. -smacks forhead- But yea thanks Steve-O for your information, and RoninFox for your help. I have now been downloading like crazy, and glad they are cheap to purchase. Sorry that I didn't respond sooner, just didn't know I had any other replies.

Glad you're aboard, and it happens more often than you'd think.  If there's any suggestion you have about why the nature of what we're providing is unclear, please let us know.
