Alright, the SI Ballpark Rankings...

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/specials/fansurvey/2008/index.html?eref=T1

Okay Cardinal Nation, who's in the 8.7 percentile that didn't pick Big Albert as the player that's most worth paying to watch? The .08 for Molina had to be the joker vote that I would've been a part of.

The I.Q. portion looks to be pretty solid near the top. From experience, I was glad to see where Yankee and Red Sox fan were ranked, and I haven't read/heard anything but accolades for the Cardinal fans at Busch regarding baseball I.Q. But the Cubs at #8?!? No way. Wrigley isn't anything but a sport's bar w/ history, period. Placing Miller as a collective whole at #10 I felt was rather generous too.

Fenway Park's atmosphere @ 21? There's the misfire of the survey unless it placed mucho emphasis on the sight lines.

I enjoy stupid surveys like this, and Miller Park receiving some mad respect, nice!

Yeah, surveys like this are great for stiring up controversy and getting people upset.

Or course, since it ranked Cardinal fans as most intelligent, I am 100% in agreement with this poll.

I like that they added fan comments to a couple of their categories...

From Miller Park's #1 rated food...

A brat with the secret stadium sauce. It just is Milwaukee.

*shakes fists*

I'm envious every time I step through the gates.

And all of the love for Cub Fan concerning hospitality...

Frat boy bad behavior.

It depends on where you sit: by the opposing players' family section, it's very pleasant. By the bleachers, they are farm animals.

Any Cubs fan. They are jerks even when they come to St. Louis.

Cubs fans bring out the worst in Milwaukee fans since the crowd is usually 60 percent Chicago fans. The language gets brutal, not family friendly at all.

At the Jake, they have...

Ten-cent beer night. Can't really top that one.

I wish Miller Park would take up that promotion once throughout the year. I'd take a day of vacation and get a room at the nearby Best Western for 10 cent beer.

How can the Marlins be in last place for tradition? They have 2 World Series trophies in contrast w/ me just wanting to smell the playoffs, once, in my lifetime. Damn you, Florida.  :D

Don't forget their time honored tradition of having a fire sale every year or so!

(I would've voted for Molina.  I mean come on, how can you NOT vote for one of the Flying Molina Brothers?)

Crap!  You got Scherzer before I could.

I've been trying to get Max for a few weeks, but his name would never appear in the player lexicon. He's nasty, and the D-Backs become that much tougher. I'm a believer that they're the team to beat in the majors this year.

The Crew took an enormous hit last Thursday w/ Yo's ACL injury. It's just morbid in Brewer Nation right now. The lineup is really going to have to pick up the slack offensively for our below average starting rotation we're going to be placing out there for the rest of the year. We've a #1 starter, a #3, and three #5's. Yikes.

Gagne's blown save yesterday was of epic proportion, too. He's now 9 for 14 on save opportunities, and it's only May 5th.

*shakes head*

Hey, at least the Brew Crew got rid of Turnbow...... he was HORRIBLE.   I think I could out pitch him.

I am hoping the Cubs make a move for him to help Wood.    That would mean good things for the Cards.

TeamRAD

You know, PSL, outside of 6 or 7  of his 77 appearances last season, he was spot on. However, this year, the fans had it with his schtick (and thankfully management), and I wish him the best wherever he lands. The rumor has it that the Mets and two other teams are interested in him.

Being a Cardinal's fan, do you remember late last season when Turnbow walked Gary Bennett on four pitches with the bases loaded amidst our pennant chase? That was my defining D-Bow moment, and it almost convinced me to boo a Brewer for the very first time. That was ridiculous, Gary freakin' Bennett on four pitches. Oh lord...

I was going to take a two-day break from baseball but am here watching the Crew down 3-0 in the sixth with one hit off a lefty nontheless. How I wish Game 3 of the Hornets/Spurs would be on later tonight.

Come on Crew, a grand-slam and the lead is ours!

Found out today that I won the company's Season Of Champions MVP performance award.  I won a pair of the company's Red Sox tickets in the State Street Home Plate Pavilion level, row 1.  $215 a piece, and there's a dress code (which blows).

It's against the Royals which sucks, but they have some decent youngsters.  And it's a day game, so I get a free half day from work!

Woohoo!

Well, I was dreading the day we were Yosted and Gagne'd in the same game, and it transpired Saturday. After the game, Gagne pretty much admits he isn't too good...

http://blogs.jsonline.com/brewers/archive/2008/05/10/gagne-admits-he-doesn-t-deserve-closer-s-role.aspx

Turnbow's back in our system too, yay!

By chance, did anyone see Dusty's lineup from Friday's game?

J. Hairston Jr. 2b
R. Freel rf
C. Patterson cf
J. Votto 1b
E. Encarnacion
A. Dunn lf
J. Keppinger ss
P. Bako c
M. Belisle p

That's right, Patterson batted thrid! Only Dusty can keep Ned from being the clown of all managers in the game.

On the bright side, it's Fenway week!!

Yeah, I've seen several of his "special moments" on TV.

I see that both Izzy (Cardinals) and Gagne (Brewers) asked to be taken off the closer role for awhile.    Guess it is time for "closer by committee".

k1

Too bad Gagne didn't ask to be taken out of the setup/mop up/all situations at the end of last year.

We did the Mothers Day "Fenway Walk In The Park" thing today and then went out on my brother in law's boat out on Boston Harbor.

Good times.

What days are you out here?

I'll be touching down in Beantown on Thursday afternoon and be flying out Monday morning. It's really beginning to seep in that this is happening, seeing the Crew at Fenway. I'm beyond excited at this point!  Thankfully, our bats are beginning to heat up before the trip east as well. Braun became the quickest player to 40 home runs, evah!

Howbeit, the Sox avoid Sheets, whom is going Thursday. The Sox in return get the gauntlet that's Suppan/Bush/Villanueva. :P

As for my seats for the weekend...

Friday: Grandstand, Section 5, Row 5
Saturday:  Bleachers, Section 41, Row 20
Sunday:  Grandstand , Section 26, Row 6

Alright, look who's all ready...

What a clown! But he's our clown!!

2 days to go, woo!!

Edit: I wanted to add the photo.

If you want some entertainment you should listen to WEEI (AM 850) around 5:45pm for the "Whiner Line" on Friday while you're out here.  I'm sure there's gonna be some quality Gagne rants.  (Assuming it doesn't get pre-empted for the Pregame show).

They've got a podcast on iTunes.  DrKennethNoisewater's buddy does some pretty hilarious impressions of Francona, Grady Little, Johnny Damon, Robert Kraft (aka Patriot Bob), Shannon Sharp, and a couple other guys.

His Francona is so good that it fooled Lou Merloni when he was guest hosting the show.  (It's the Terry From Tokyo one on the Podcast)
