Question about Shooting at the Monster SPOILER ALERT

I watched the unriffed movie last night and will watch the riffed verion later this weekend.    Surprisingly, the shaky cam did not bother or distract us at all.   The character of HUD seemed like a dullard that I wanted dead sooner.

Anyway, my question was about the monster.    I can see rifle bullets not stopping it, but a MISSLE would blow holes in the flesh and tank shot and bombs from a bomber would blow it to bits.    How did that not kill it?

Well if you believe that it's either from space or from the bottom of the ocean than it's skin is meant to be much thicker than your average creature...like really thick...so thick that even calling it a doody-head wouldn't hurt it's feelings....

Although those pink "airbags" on either side of it's head?...obviously a weakspot.  Haven't the army in the movie ever played a video game? Always shoot the bit of the boss that's a different colour to the rest of it's body

I keep telling the government that Starfox 64 should be a standard training tool.  Glad someone else see it too.

They could have gone the Godzilla road and said the creature has some sort of unusual healing factor I guess.
Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

I don't understand why they just didn't throw table salt at it?
Seems to work for any other creature that you can't figure out how to kill.  ;)

Maybe they could not find a guy in a roaster who could drive to the chemical supply store to get SODIUM as suggested by their live-in maid?

I'm just glad it wasn't fatally allergic to WATER.

Come now, no one would ever make a movie like that!

* cough, cough*

Or worse yet, it could be 'allergic' to UV rays, thus rendering it incompatible in daylight.

The military clearly didn't do enough barrel rolls.

C'mon, guys! It wouldn't be a monster movie if the creature just went down after a few missile blasts!

I would have preferred a teenage breakout pop star ghost ride a hotrod filled with nitro at it.
