Ahoy-hoy riffers,

I'm wondering if we can establish some sort of consensus on whether or not there is a "funniest segment" of all the RiffTrax that are out there yet.  That is, a 2-3 minute period where everything was working just right that had you rolling.  I want to open this thread for suggestions, then maybe see if there's any consensus to build a poll around.  So let's hear your thoughts about the funniest RiffTrax segments ever!

The first one that comes to mind for me is in Star Trek V. Towards the end, when they meet "God" and he shows his many faces. My friends and I were basically suffocating from so much laughter at that point!!!

I'd say second place was probably in Star Wars Episode 1. As Kevin continued to go on and on about Mitchell, South Dakota, my friend Mitchell was getting angry at all the references, and Mitchell's brother Brandon was about to literally fall out of his chair from laughing so hard!!!

I gotta tell you folks, watching Rifftrax with all your buddies is the best thing in the world right now!!!!!!!

The ending credits in Road House was good.

Many of the riffs in Crossroads had me rolling on the ground...specifically when the guy was kicking the dirt, or when Brit sings "I'm not a girl, I'm not a woman" and Mike sings back: "I'm more like a 'go-man'".

Some of my favorite riffs came from Bill, in Xmen when he was having the conversation with Mike near the start.
Mike: "I beleive you're supposed to start loving me know!?!?"
Bill: "I dont think that was part of our deal Mike..."

Or, in Top Gun we see The Indian Ocean.
Bill: "Is that dot head Indian or Woo Woo Indian?"...oh man, I just about had a corinary when I heard that.

The Neo - Morpheus fight scene was really funny too..."You think thats air you're breathing?" Mike: "Its wild rice"

Neo Vs Morpheus was hysterical, as was Neo Vs Agent Smith.

I honestly believe the strongest Rifftrax yet was The Matrix.

The "Mrs. Frodo Strider" remark almost hospitalized me.

Thanks for the feedback.  We're looking for more along the lines of what Pak-Man or Kodiak were talking about with their Neo Vs Morpheus or Shatner Vs God comments.  Scenes, instead of specific lines or riffs.

Are you thinking of updating the free samples?
Or do you have some other sort of promotion in mind?

I think I got the most laughs from Road House.  Specifically, the beginning part (feathered hair AND a mullet...his hair came to play!), moving into his conversation with Kevin Tighe, getting into his car (A tape deck!), driving (His bouncer-senses are tingling) and going into the Double Deuce for the first time.

I love popping in Road House and watching the first ~15 minutes, it's some of my favorite stuff Mike has done.

I don't know if it quite reaches the 2 minute mark, but the bit from Fellowship Starting with, "You have my sword!" and going all the way through the gag is priceless. :^)

The only scene that springs to mind straight away is Tom Cruise chasing the bus in Cocktail. Some great lines there.

Awww chasing Katie Holmes schoolbus... By the power invested in me by L Ron Hubbard I order you to pull over!

Crossroads has a lot, but a lot of the funny stuff is the running gags done about his killing reputation, which probably wouldn't work well as a stand-alone segment.

One of my favorite segments so far was during Brittney's audition in Crossroads and all the riffs on Ben.

Ben struggling to read sheet music
"F....F....C...."

Judges talking to each other
"That Ben's got real talent"

Judges talking to each other again
"Have security throw them out"

and then at the end.
"Let's hear it for the anonymous band that Ben threw together."

I thought the whole area around, "This is stupid, right?" in the Matrix was pretty brilliant. Or the lobby scene, with the suggestion that people who really enjoy it need therapy.

The Matrix was one long chain of great sequences.
