It takes place after the movie was made, doesn't necessarily have to be WAY into the future. Could be 2000 or something.

I don't think we would've gotten the confident YES about being based on a book for Lost in Space.

Technically, the movie is based on the TV series, which is an adaptation of the book.  It seems too much of a stretch.

J-Proof

I would attempt to narrow down which movies in that list from Jacky-Ross fit the situation etc....

The problem with this list is that none of the movies fit the clues and stand out as something that would be a really great Rifftrax, as they have been hyping.

We don't have a confident ANYTHING for Lost in Space, other than it's sci-fi and stars a previous Rifftrax star. I wouldn't call the movie "Set" on earth, since most of the movie happens, as the title says, in space. :^)

Red Tape

Hmm. A wild guess here maybe (not an official guess). What about Mars Attacks? It was PG-13, made in the 90s, did poorly at the box office, and there was a book. It starred nearly everyone in hollywood.

Really???  Not one? Man... I'm seeing a few there that I might even bring to Mike's attention!

The good ones on that list don't fit the clues.
