Were they singing a Pokemon-themed song for Okajima in the bottom-of-the-ninth?

I'm still waking up.

Beats me.   I have to be at work by 7 so I only got to watch the first inning and a half before I left the house.  I'm hoping they replay the game on NESN tonight so I can catch more of it.  (Watching it on ESPN Gameday at my desk isn't quite the same for some reason...)

If they do, I'll be on the lookout for it.

If I was in Boston, I'd have been one of the patrons at the bar, having a couple bottles of Boston Lager while taking in the game in the morning and cheering for the Sox. It would've been an uniquely fun experience. I'd do it tomorrow, too. There would've went 2 personal days.

Jerry Remy!

The Sox are a 1/2 game over the Yanks already! But watch out for the D-Rays this year...

Tripe

Here's a question for the both or you, or anyone else reading this.

Have either of you got this book?

It's not too pricey at all but I wondered what people think of it. :)

TeamRAD

I haven't read that, Tripe, but by chance, have you or anyone else ever read this before...(just picked it up a short while ago)

Buck was beyond amazing.

Tripe, are you pretty happy w/ the Cabrera extension, and are you ready for fantasy baseball next week?

*now back to my sabermetrics*

Tripe

Er, yes and, as far as I know, yes :)

I'll have to check that book out too, I keep missing the Negro League day at Comerica Park, I should make a concerted effort to have that day free this year.

k1

Nope, haven't read either.

I've read a couple of the 2004 Red Sox books, the Johnny Damon book, and I'm currently working on 2 of the Barry Bonds books.  (Haven't started Game Of Shadows yet, and I'm almost done with "Love Me, Hate Me, I don't give a f***")

Well, I guess my fantasy baseball domination begins tonight with Mark Teixeira's first at-bat.

Thanks to the earlier post my wife (Pantsless Papelbons in the Roto league) now sings the Peter Gammons theme song whenever he comes on the screen.  Which happens to be quite a bit on NESN.

You know, k1, I would be colored smitten if the future Mrs. TeamRAD would sing that, period.

I'm really liking this fantasy baseball thing. I actually had fellow co-workers last week keeping track of Teixiera's numbers in hopes he would explode. That and I cannot believe I had 8 Brewers/Royals starting for me yesterday.

This season's Opening Week was the most fun I've ever had as a fan. The Crew has to open up the season at Wrigley more often.  Undoubtedly they were the coldest games I've ever attended, but the bad blood that's percolating between the teams/fans is about to boil over. Now, it's war. I concede.

...and the Giants are horrible.

Hmm I do so love retro things, but old school Tigers are something I don't want to see revived  :'(

TeamRAD

Tripe, how's the city and media handling the Tiger's start? Your guys are playing against the grain, no team has started 0-6 and went to the World Series.

And to think, they're off to Fenway for the BoSox home opener, yikes.

Yeah I think I pretty much sum up the feeling of Detroit when I say

WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\

I wonder how the next game will go :speechless:

I thought it was no team had gone 0-4 and made it to the World Series, and no team (or was it only 2 teams?) had gone 0-6 and made it to the playoffs.  (I could be wrong on that though.)

But now it's 0-7.  I'm sure they'll turn it around soon enough.

I DVR'd the Ring Ceremony so I could watch it after work.  I'm not expecting it to be as good as the 04 one though.  The win just wasn't the same after the 86 year drought.  (Although it was kinda cool to have Buckner throw out the first pitch)
