In the past ten years, my parents are on their second dishwasher, second clothes drying and third clothes washer.

I believe that some folks just have bad body electricity and should remain Ahmish.

I'm sure bad technology mojo carries over to the Amish as well. So, I don't know, their woodburner falls apart or something. Their buttons keep falling off. They so much as look at an axe and the head falls off.

Bad tech mojo isn't that powerful. It'd be cool if it were, though. The government could hire folks like that for sabotage missions and stuff. All they'd have to do is stand there and let nature take its course.

I don't know. The one person I know who would most likely have bad tech mojo, if it were real, would make the worst government agent. The government would have to keep her in the dark about why she had to go to Vienna and spend a few days at just this one coffee shop.

Well, I'd imagine some training would be involved. And possibly a bomb surgically implanted in the brain that goes off if you blow your cover.

I've never been able to pass my jinxes on to other people unless I live with them, so I think you're safe.  :D  Your computer issues are probably completely independant of the fact that we're on the same board.

  I hope.  :speechless:
THANKS TYRANT!

Just had a power supply Fail in my #5 computer!  :grr:
Actually, it has a hard time starting, but when I flip the power switch off and on on the power supply itself, it seems to jump-start itself.
Once it fires up, it's fine throughout the entire day till I turn it off. I'll be requesting an RMA# today.
Luckily, I have a spare power supply I'll be installing later. :P

RVR, do you have your computers set up in a refrigerated room?

How do you deal with all the heat put out?  Fans or liquid cooling for your processors?
On timeout

HEH.. Power bill every month is Not Cheap! All are exposed to 'room' temperatures.
All of my motherboards use the LGA 775 socket, and all have 90-110mm diameter, High rpm processor fans.

The heat is not really an issue as I've got all very well ventilated with every fan slot available being used (80mm to 120mm case fans).
I think the power supply (2nd one like it that's failed in 6 months) are under rated for the hardware being powered: 3 SATA hard drives, 2 SATA DVD burners, and a powered ATI All In Wonder video card along with fans, lights, etc.

But there's no scientific way my body energy can transmit itself over the Internet!!

Unless it was that Satanic ceremony I performed last night. Hmmm....

Well as this is the computer thread, I wanted to brag and say that I have successfully fixed the blue screen of death on my computer...it was a long and hard process, taking me hours every day just uninstalling and reinstalling hardware and software, but I, Fortis, defeated it.

Usually that 'Blue screen of Death' is a memory issue in the BIOS,
But mine was caused by a conflict in my Anti Virus software that was corrected after uninstalling and reinstaling it.

Well, the latest chapter in my life with computers where no simple problem has a simple solution (either by way of my jinx powers or by random circumstance) has taken the predicted path. Apperantly my specific machine has a well documented flaw (I did the research) wherein when the power supply goes, it takes the MB with it. Lovely. I suppose I should have expected it since it's a cheap machine and you get what you pay for (or in my case, receive a freebie). Anyone on here needs to avoid EMachines like the plague (I know I know! Cheap! But it was free!!).

So now I'm just planning how to get my hardrive into a new machine so I can get my stuff back. :-P Fortunatly, I knew the pc was crap when I got it initially, so I was able to back up about 70% of what I wanted before it died. I'm happy I haven't drowned any money at all in fighting a losing battle.

A long and hard process? That's what she said.

I put that in there hoping somebody would catch it....

It was caused from me installing a Pinnacle studio add on that is no longer supported by pinnacle. It was their instant dvd maker thing. So every time I put a blank cd/dvd in my drive the blue screen would come up.
