Anyone seen the trailer for M. Night Shyamalon's new movie? I think it looks pretty dang good.

Course, Shyamalon is one of my favorite directors so I could be pretty biased (yes I am one of the few that actually thought Lady in the Water was good). But I love his movies for the way he makes characters that seem real, and they do what any ordinary person would do during the extraordinary events he puts them through. I find them all really compelling (yes even lady in the water).

This film version of "What's Happenin'" seems a bit odd.  Still, Wahlberg makes a great rerun.

Anyhoo, I always hesitate to make assumptions, but considering Shamala's downward spiral, even if it's a good movie, it probably won't make too much money at the Box Office.

I wonder of someone bet him he couldn't think of a title so meaningless and ambiguous that it meant nothing about anything.

nobody....

i've actually been watching the status of this movie for a long time, apparently he has been trying to find a home for this script for a long time, and 20th century fox read it, and said, 'this has a lot of potential, rewrite it and if we like it we will give you the helm' he rewrote it and apparently, they said, and I quote "the script is pretty darn good"

I don't know why I take offense to peoples dislike of Shyamalon...but then i take offense to things I shouldn't, and I don't take offense to things I should.

Think of a more vague title. No, stop, you can't.

"Let's see, what does the title tell me about the subject of the movie?"

Something is... happening.

"Shocking."

Well I think we can all agree that it is a better title than this movie.

"Night of the Day of the Dawn of the Son of the Bride of the Return of the Revenge of the Terror of the Attack of the Evil, Mutant, Alien, Flesh Eating, Hellbound, Zombified Living Dead Part 2: In Shocking 2-D" (1991)

Dude, I would so see that movie.

I'm a Shyamalan fan, I've liked all his movies to one degree or another.  I haven't watched the trailer, and I don't plan to. The more excited I am for a movie, the less I want to know about it.  I like going into it knowing nothing about it.  I only do this for my favorite filmmakers though.

But yeah, the title blows.

He asks at the start of that trailer, "What happened to all the bees?" and I thought it was common knowledge.  They left Earth, but not before leaving a message for us saying, "So long, and thanks for all the nectar."

Ooh, and Zooey Deschanel? Mmmm....   :-*

Zooey just happened to be in the movie where all the dolphins left. But on a side note, bees are way intelligent. Look up some tests people have done with them, and it is crazy how smart bees are.

I tend to watch the Teaser trailers and that is it. I think some of my best movie experiences have been when I go in with almost no knowledge of the movie. Though, I think Shyamalon's trailers tend to be cut really well.

The Dark Knight will be the next movie that comes out that I know almost nothing about.

Recent tests suggest that a swarm of bees may be as intelligent (as a unit) as a human being... possibly even MORE intelligent.

Not that that's necessarily impressive, if we're talking about an average human being. :P

Well I read an article about a scientist who found out that bees from germany can't communicate with bees from America. And that when dishes filled with nectar are placed in different distances from the bee hive using multiples of 2, and even prime numbers, that it always got to the point where when he placed the dish at the next place for it to be placed (he always placed the dish of nectar at the same time of day) the bees were waiting for him. So bees are capable of figuring out patterns. I mean, if someone were to put food out for me at a distance that changed every day according to a pattern following prime numbers, i would probably starve.
