Fantastic Trax.  And as they've started the ball rolling they're going to have to do JP2 and JP3 in the future so those will be perfect times to bring Weird Al back!

Question for Conor or somebody: Did Al help write this one? The reason I ask is: There is a noticeable increase in Simpsons references in this one. I'm wondering if that is part of Al's influence?

Just had to add my voice to the chorus of approval for this one. A solid-gold fantastic RiffTrax. To think I might have skipped this one were it not for the presence of a certain Mr W. A. Yankovic.

If ... excuse me ... WHEN Al comes back, please bring Bill along. The Mike - Al - Bill chemistry would be priceless.

Excellent idea!  Other than that a good solid piece of work.  However, Mike, there is no reason for you to take a subordinate stance with Weird Al.  He's in your world here, not his.  I know it was probably played for laughs, but it bothered me somewhat.

Keep up the good work.

No, he didn't.  Writing it with Al in mind definitely influences the entire process, but he didn't write himself.  If there are more simpsons references, it's purely a coincidence.

One of these days, I'd love to see a guest riffer who is more involved in the writing process. I'd be interested to see what they come up with.

Not saying that the guest riffs written by the RiffTrax team aren't funny (because they very much are), just that I'd like to see what a guest's take on things brings to the mix. I think the Batman & Robin riff clearly shows that (end of script timing aside) material written by other people can definitely be hilarious coming out of Mike, Bill, and Kevin's mouths. :)

Don't forget that there are plans to make a JP4.

This one was my first track and all I can say is

I reauthored this one a couple of days ago when I finally received the DVD in the mail and I enjoyed it quite a bit.  Al is extremely comfortable in the booth with Mike, and their banter didn't seem forced or scripted in anyway.  My favourite riff had to be Mike's pretty damned good impression of The Simpsons' Comic Book Guy.  Hilarious!

I was lucky enough to meet Al after a show recently & gave him props on his Rifftrax appearance.    Damn nice guy, that Al.  His band too.
