I registered, using the links provided in another discussion of this subject, (then promptly forgot where said thread resides) and no response.  Could someone please re-post the link, or direct me to the appropriate thread?

Bob

They wont even both to e-mail me my registration link.   I have tried to register twice and not luck.

They just do not have their act together.   :-[

I know, same here.  Still, in a lot of ways, they've managed to outperform and accomplish a lot more in a shorter period of time than some others have...*cough*MST3K.com*cough*

They need to hire Torgos or at least someone with equal gumption.  I'd bet some fan would volunteer to be webmaster for free.

Did I actually just use the word "gumption?"

That's essentially what it is now.

In that case, they need to find a less worthless fan who is willing to be their webmaster for free. ;)

Great guns you certainly did.

My grandmother used to use that expression, great guns, and I always got a kick out of it.   That and "Got im Himmel" (god in the sky, in german) whenever she got exasperated.

I don't think their mail servers are setup properly, I had to use my verizon address to get on the email list, my 2 normal email accounts are on servers with lots of spam protection and mail from CT must be getting rejected, never got the confirmation emails on those accounts.

Maybe they should pay someone then ;)

I wouldn't call him worthless, especially if he has a real job and is doing this for free.  I've done sites for free.  It's a real pain in the butt, especially if it's a demanding site with a demanding owner who expects you to update "right now" and you think, "uh, you know, I'm doing this as a favor to you, you could be a little less dickish." Plus, it puts you in the position of having to turn down paying projects or overworking yourself.  On the other hand, if you even want to include it in your portfolio, which would at least make your effort a little bit worth it, you have to keep it looking nice or you look like someone who doesn't know what they're doing.

So yeah, I understand the mess of the site, but you'd think they could find a loser enterprising mst3k fan with tons of spare time to stop debating "Joel r0x0r" and do the site.

I had assumed he was someone associated with the project who "knows frontpage" and really doesn't know much.

Well, based on the evidence that whoever is doing their site doesn't even understand the need for a test site versus a live site (speaking of the people who were able to find and register the forums before they even officially existed, proving that their webmaster was modifying live code), I'd say that whoever the hell it is that is doing their site doesn't know how the hell to BE a webmaster.

So yeah... working for free or not, their reputation is on the line, and the site they are putting forth stinks. If you don't have someone to do the work for you on making a custom site, then you should just throw up phpbb and have done. Plenty of other sites do it... it's not the best it could be... but I'd rather see a fully functional standard component site that an unpolished lump of dung that was coded by hand any day. ;D
