I have the UK release of Fifth Element and the Chaptering and movie length are very different to the information in the Rifftrax txt file
Our version of the movie  seems to be 2 minutes shorter

Has anyone figured out which bits of the rifftrax audio i need to delete to keep these in synch?
Does anyone have a time synch of the rifftrax and this edirion?

chris ???

Did you download the PAL version of the RIFFTRAX?  If not that is the one you need. If you e-mail support they might be able to help you get the right one.

Yes - I have the PAL download - but i think the PAL rifftrax are just timed to deal with the frame rate differences between PAL and NTSC - they dont actually cater for the PAL versions of the movies (unless someone knows better)

Still working on this - trying to splice the 2 audios together with the picture - as this appears the only way to be able to delete out the rifftrax at the right point

I don't have the Special Edition of Fifth Element, but the PAL rifftrax I used with my DVD synched almost perfectly throughout.  Maybe the 2 minute difference is the different speeds NTSC & PAL play at...?

Tarantulas

It is... you have the NTSC version of the Rifftrax, and you really need the PAL version.

If you need a PAL version, email support, we'll be happy to issue you a replacement.  But before you do, if you could post a link to the DVD version you have, we could check it out and make sure that PAL/NTSC is the problem you've got, and not something else.  We weren't aware of any versions of the movie that existed that contained deleted scenes, but then again, we're not in Europe.  So if you could post a link to the amazon.com page of your version, or the coverart, we can offer more advice.

And as far as readme's go, we don't have the PAL versions of the DVDs to work from, so we're not able to breakdown PAL DVDs.

BathTub

Have you checked out sharecrow? Their rifftrax page has a method that makes the chapter breaks irrelevant.  In fact thinking about it, it might even make the NTSC/PAL difference irrelevant also.

Thanks for all the comments
The PAL rifftrax works fine with the Movie - it is the accompanying file of timings that doesn't match.

I was also caught out on when to start the rifftrax
On the UK version of the DVD DO NOT re-start the Rifftrax after the fade out of the "Gaumont" which is in red surrounded by a circle. Wait until you get the the Gaumont in white on a black background - when this fades start re-start your Rifftrax and you should be fine.

now...just need to swap my Roadhouse Rifftrax for PAL.......

BathTub

yeah well the times would be off by about 4%. But you only need to work out the very last one.

We're unable to include a TXT file for PAL DVDs because we don't have those DVDs to test before hand.  Any fans who are willing to help out their fellow PALers and post chapter breakdowns etc, I'm sure everyone would be indebted.

With Sharecrow's timeramp feature, you should be able to use one .mp3 for either version.

BathTub

yeah that is what I was thinking, since sharecrow can stretch or compress the rifftrax, it makes the ntsc/pal mp3 distinction pretty much meaningless. Not everyone uses Sharecrow of course.
