I'll do you one better.  Consider the issue dropped.

mrbasehart

I wonder how long it'll be before they announce a second release?

Nice policy... except that I didn't receive the disc within 48 hours of purchase.

Too bad you didn't pro-actively contact them.  Next time I suggest after you hit "submit" on your order, you send support an email right away . . . but that would be your SECOND purchase.  Foiled again.

Smart guarantee they have there. :)

Got mine the other day.  I was right.  It showed up while I was out of state.

I had heard the packaging was sketchy and heard the references to Netflix envelopes, but I didn't realize you all meant they just slapped postage on the small white envelope that comes inside the Netflix envelope.

I also didn't realize that they're being shipped from about 15 miles from my house.  After seeing how scuffed up the disc is (mine's pretty bad.  looks like someone ran it along the floor, plus I got the milk cloud) I would've gladly paid an extra buck to go pick it up myself and save it whatever damage may have happened in transit.

I didn't end up with scuffs matching the envelope.  Mine looks like someone put racing stripes down the middle.  Maybe caused by the mail sorter or the postage machine?  Dunno.

Another thing... the "Burn & Ship" fee was $2.99.  Really?  The postage was $0.58 on mine.  $2.41 to burn it, print the label, and get a cheap envelope?

bratpop

What, is that an internet ordering complaint? Join the club. Why does Amazon have a strict $2.98 shipping policy for CDs when they can't ever cost more than $1.80 to ship?

SmilinJackRoss

It's shipping and handling guys.  And the emphasis is always on the handling part of it.  There's some serious time-consuming labor that goes into pushing the right buttons on the keyboard to burn the disc, packing those tricky little envelopes, making sure they get into the mail, etc.   ;)

Never underestimate a company's willingness to milk you for every dime they can.

We have to handle it too though, and for a lot longer. Shouldn't we get some of that money back? In fact, they should pay US for handling.

Silly me!  I forgot to take into account the cost of oats & carrots to give the horse pulling the wagon.  Now it adds up.

But see... if they were a fiscally responsible business, they'd only need a single carrot on a string!

Then they'd need to hire someone to keep the animal rights groups away.

Even with a gun, ammo would add up.

Handling is a very real cost that fiscally responsible companies are trying to recover more and more these days. You have to account for your labor costs, and passing some of that on to the customer is pretty standard these days.

I wasn't a fan of Frank's character, but I did love him as a riffer (Wild Horses--even if the other riffer sounded a bit like Crow T. Robot  ;D).  Glad to see him where he belongs.  But, yeah, as if $16.44.233.4888 wasn't enough...
