I just downloaded the Rifftrax Player and the .riff Road House and it has a weird problem.
The audio refuses to sync up when moving from chapter 2 to 3.  I have tried using the skip buttons, the fast forwards and reverses, the menu selection for chapters, and just plain watching the movie.  Every time, chapter three starts up and the audio skips back the synced audio for chapter two.  The worst part is that this problem persists for the rest of the movie.... making the commentary almost a full 8 minutes off of the film.

Has this happened with any other .riff files?  Is this a problem with the .riff or with the player?

I just watched Roadhouse with the player on Sunday and didn't have any problems with the sync.  I'm not sure what could cause the problem you described.

I guess I'll just try the standard Windows answer:
Delete, Re-Download, Re-Install

I'm getting this exact same problem with Roadhouse.

Did you find a solution?

Update:

I downloaded the .riff file again but no change, still jumps back one chapter when it hits chapter 3.

Downloaded the zip file to get the readme so I can watch it the old fasion way (or reauther).  I noticed in the readme there are 2 versions of the disk, the one I have is 20 chapters.

BTW, when is the "readme file" button in the player going to work?  Or at least when you use the export button it should also give you the readme file, kind of a waste to have to download the big zip file just to get the little readme text file....

I am having the exact same problem described above.  That's at least three people now, so it is definitely a real problem.

I was so happy to see the RiffPlayer available.  This is exactly what was needed to change RiffTrax from a novelty I'll try once or twice, into a truly viable ongoing entertainment source.  That is, if I could only get it to work.

Is anyone working on this problem?

RedZone: How many chapters does your disk have?  My guess is maybe they made the .riff with the 28 chapter version and those of us with the 20 chapter version are the ones having problems.

I ended up reauthoring, since the movie only has a stereo track I made it surround with Mike on the center and rear speakers, worked out pretty well, but I wasn't expecting to have to do that, I've been using the player for most RiffTrax, this is the only one of the 22 I have that has this problem.

Yes, my version has 20 chapters.  Any chance of making a 20-chapter version available for download?

I have no idea how to do "reauthoring", but I maybe I'll have to look into that.

I have the 20-chapter version of Road House, and I'm having this sync issue as well.  I'm using version 1.1.0.6 of the RiffTrax Player to play it... anyone know if the previous version of the player works okay with the 20-chapter disc?

I'm having the same problem with the other bit of Swayze-goodness, Point Break.  I just loaded the newest version of the player upon Rifftrax's request and attempted to play things.  Everything worked fine until the riffs started repeating.   Backing up the movie or moving to a different chapter didn't resync things.  I'll try later or with another DVD or maybe when I buy Plan 9.

I too have the same problem when watching Swaze shirtlessness on my Riffplayer (Road House specifically) The rifftrax stops working correctly after chapter 2.
For you tech guys, I am able to repeat the error anytime I want and I am a Colombian living IN Colombia, so nationality and geographical location have nothing with this bug.

Cheers!
yes, no matter what the culture, folk dancing is stupid...

There have been no problems with Point Break that I'm aware of.  There are two releases... the 122 minute Pure Adrenaline version and the 117 regular version.  Which release do you have?
