How about a backwards-zombie movie?  It would be set in a very distant post-apocalyptic future, in which the entire population, both living and dead, have been totally zombified.  Eventually, society semi-reforms itself as the zombies' vague memories of civilization begin to resurface (i.e. the zombies in the last two Romero movies).  Suddenly, for unexplained reasons, the dead begin to re-RE-animate, turning into horrifying not-zombies (read: normal humans).  As humans, they remember nothing of their zombie lives, but they DO remember being terrified of zombies.  Similarly, the zombies are rather startled by this development, even frightened by the unfamiliar look of the humans (their hunger for their flesh has been dormant for hundreds of years).  War breaks out.

Can the dead survive the onslaught of the living?  Find out in Daed Gnivil eht fo Thgin!

You know what I want to see?  An intelligent suave sophisticated zombie.  Kind of like a Sean Connery James Bond type zombie.  That would be sweet.  He would even wear expensive suits and tuxedos and drive exotic sports cars.

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

I think that's where they were headed with Land of the Dead... but I guess we may never know

Here's one that will never make it's way into a movie:
Voodoo goes way beyond the basic "hungan bossing around corpse" thing. Some priests will ritually transfer their mortal soul to an object or another person, letting God take over the body, and act through it. Kinda the ultimate charity, I'd say.

Perverting that in the general Hollywood fashion, let's say a bunch of "gods" want to go to war, but they can only do so by inhabiting mortal forms. Suddenly, thousands of people all over the world, both dead and alive, start massing in groups, then fighting each other, with humanity in the crossfire. Add a few more dangers, (Maybe they actually have to feed on humans to keep from burning their physical bodies out, or perhaps just have a few of them weild big powers,) and you've got yourself a wierd movie.

Hmm...sounds like a possible script for Evil Dead 4: Ash vs. Deadites vs. Rasta Deadites of Doom.

Speaking of Zombie movies, George A. Romero's new zombie film has a trailer for it over on his myspace page:

For anyone too squeamish to look at a myspace page for the trailer, it looks a bit like Night of the Living Dead with a "Blair Witch" camera.

Diary of the Dead is going to be freakin' sweet. Romero is brilliant. 8)
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

Apparently the buzz for it is so good, they've already authorized a sequel.

That looks fantastic. I'm so excited! I wish I could meet Romero, if only to bow down and kiss his feet. I don't know where I'd be if not for his zombie movies. I suppose I'd be under a different name, avatar, and I might be richer for not spending so much money on zombie stuff.
