How about The Concorde: Airport '79?

I'm currently enduring this flick and boggling at the sheer insanity of this film. It's got George Kennedy, Charo, David Warner, JJ Walker, and more!

AND Eddie Albert!

Or maybe even the Airport with the plane that SINKS to the bottom of the sea and the passenger cabin is still full of air.   Not quite sure of the physics on that one.

Don't forget Robert Wagner!

I'd love to see a rifftrax of this film, though I fear it is not meant to be.  My favorite parts of when they stop the plane from crashing using what looks like rubber bands and when Kennedy's co-captain pays a hooker to sleep with Kennedy - and he loves it, even when he finds out the scheme!

I don't think the Rifftrax crew has done a film in the disaster genre yet.  It is long overdue.  I'd love to see a 70s one done.

With the great dialogue of:

Stewardess to Kennedy:  "You pilots are such...... MEN"
Kenneda to stewardess:  "Well, they dont call it a cockpit for nothing"

Concorde: Airport '79 is one of the worst '70s disaster films (up there with the Irwin Allen bomb "When Time Ran Out" [thankfully not on DVD]).
I have the Airport box set and after watching this stinkfest, I watched the trailer on the DVD.
It basically told the WHOLE movie in 2 1/2 minutes.

I would love to have all 4 Airport movies done. But definitely Airport 1975 (Charlton Heston at the hammiest [Does he ever call Karen Black's character by her first name, or is "Honey" and "Baby" actually her first name?]). and Concord: Airport '79.
I am not a number, I am a free man!

I think Siskel and Ebery ripped on this one, like the famous scene when george kennedy sticks a flare pistol out the concord's window at mach speeds to fire a flare pistol to distract a missie.

Uh, anyone here wanna talk about what would happen if you stuck you hand out a plane;s window a mach+?

Oh yeah, the fact that after the first attack all the pssengers get on board the next day like nothing had happened.....

Ah, but in spirit it's just as bad as SST Deathflight. But far more riffable.

Hey, want to talk about bad plane movies, how about "Starflight one, the plane that couldn't land"?

Oh god, I just realized that now at least one person wh might have lived his whole life and died never seeing this steamer will see it and have to live with the horror all his days. I'm so ashamed....

Oh, I remember it unfortunately, but do we really need an unholy trinity of horrible airplane movies (Firefox as the third in my list)?

You know, if there is one good thing about the concord, it made the airport movie where the plane sunk and had to raised look like a cinematic masterpiece by comparison, in terms of effects, plot, story, concept, acting, dialogue, technical accuracy, etc.

Oh, and the ironic bit is that the Concorde shown in Airport '79 happens to be the same one that later punched a hole in its fuel tank and crashed, killing all on board, back in 2000.

This should be riffed!!!  It would be a breath of fresh air from all the sci-fi/fanboy movies currently being done.

Thank you-- won't you?

This movie would make an awesome Rifftrax. It's got everything! An arms dealer coming up with insane plots to destroy the Concorde just so he can shut up ONE female reporter!  A complete lack of physics! Wacky comedy Russians! J.J Walker potraying every 70's black guy stereotype known to man! George Kennedy getting laid! CHARO!

Watching this on Epix on demand right now. This one would make an awesome riff! I really liked this dialogue:

Person 1: If we could (jargon jargon), then we could probably get them back.
Person 2: Well, figure it out!
Person 1: *sigh* We can't. *hangs head*
