WWO means "Worth watching once" and is used to describe movies that are good enough to watch once but likely not the kind to attract repeat viewers.

WWO isn't a bad lable, really, as it means a movie is worth watching one more time that a lot of movies....

I wanted to list a few little known movies that are at least WWO and see who else had their own list.

Moon 44- West german SF movie, low budget but some good acting. Pre-CGI days so expect some unconvincing effects.

Roger Corman's Frankenstein Unbound- A low budget movie but it feels like a gig budget one in places, very surreal twist on the frankenstein legend, fairly original and interesting. Good actors.

Spaced Invaders- Comedy about some spacey martians invading earth during halloween. Got some good laughs in it.

Zonetroopers- Actually I've watched this one more than once. It's a loving tribute, NOT a parody or send up, of the golden age of SF, the gernsback era. A squad of american GIs is behind enemy lines in italy during ww2 when the luftwaffe shoots down a rocketship from another planet. They must help the bug eyes pilot escape to keep alien technology out of nazi hands. Seeing hitler get punched out is worth watching it for.

I would say most of David Lean's later work is WWO.  I certainly couldn't sit through another showing of Lawrence of Arabia or *shudder* Dr Zhivago.

Basically any epic over 2 and half hours long without a decent dragon or troll in it.  :)

Actually, now that you mention it....I saw those LotR movies once...and that was more than enough for me.

David Fincher's "The Game"

12 Angry Men - I mean I love the film and have watched it multiple times but I don't think it's everyones cup of tea. Even so I think everyone should watch it once.

Then you have to add Judgement at Nuremburg and Inherit the Wind to that.....

Two other movies that I could append exactly the same descriptive text to.  :)

I'd put Eraserhead and Blue Velvet in the WWO catagory.    Both interesting films, but I think one viewing is enough.

Frankenstein Unbound is now in my Netflix queue.   Sure sounds intersting...... and the cast is pretty good for a Corman film.
"In Los Angeles of the near future, Dr. Buchanan's (John Hurt) newest project forms a wormhole in time that sends him back to 1817 Switzerland. There, he encounters Dr. Victor Frankenstein (Raul Julia), whose own experiments are also upsetting the natural order. Nick Brimble stars as the monster in director Roger Corman's twist on the classic Frankenstein legend. Bridget Fonda, Jason Patric and INXS's Michael Hutchence co-star."

I read half of the book this is based on....

Is it just me or does that description - a Puerto Rican actor as a German scientist, Bridget Fonda (in possibly her 40th movie that year) as Mary Shelly and a rock star who will end up hanging himself from a hotel room door (exactly why he did it is still being argued) - make it sound like a great potential Rifftrax?

I probably wouldn't watch a riff on Frankenstein unbound.

I'm not saying it shouldn't be done, but I wouldn't watch it. I mean, the thing is that it's obvious that people really tried with this movie, and they worked hard on it. It's not like "Attack of the The eye creatures" where the producers just didn't care, people put effort into this and it shows.

I like to see moviesd riffed when it's obvious they were more "let" then released.
