I guess I'm probably more of a geek than a nerd...

I am nerdier than 22% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

I'm with Jack, more geek then nerd

Darn, I wanted to score higher, actually.  The test is skewed heavily towards a math/science nerdom.  What of film nerds, comedy nerds, literary nerds?

As Milhouse said, "I'm not a nerd.  Nerds are smart!"

Billy Flynn

I am nerdier than 83% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

honestly I am shocked by that score.. I figured I was more of a geek. Cause I would kill in a movie questionare.

I am nerdier than 58% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

To be honest, I think the term Geek is more for specific things. For example I consider myslef to be a Simpsons or South Park geek...or an MST geek. It doesnt meen that you have no social life and you are not cool. It just means that I am *really* into these things..more so then the average person.

Nerd on the other hand, is almost a culture.

Yep. Half and half. I've got smarts, but only some. It amused me when a person once thought I got all A's in high school. As if.  ;)

Here's another test on the same website that I completed:

My computer geek score is greater than 46% of all people in the world! How do you compare? Click here to find out!

I don't agree with the assertion that I'm a "wannabe computer geek". I'm a TRIED AND TRUE COMPUTER GEEK!!! I may not know as much as others do, or am all that technical, but I can hold my own.

And for the record, I'm MAC ALL THE WAY!!! DEATH TO WINDOWS AND THEIR LAME EXCUSES FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO COMPETE WITH MAC OSX WITH THEIR WAY-TOO-LATE RELEASE OF VISTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

;D ;D

The American's blind faith in tests amazes me.  We have to believe that tests are accurate predictors of whatever they're predicting, or else we wouldn't take them, right?  I mean, taking a test is not fun, no matter what it is.  Even if you like to be challenged, test taking has no application to the real world, so how can it feel rewarding enough to justify taking one that you don't have to?

Or have we taken so many tests during our school years that we now actually enjoy taking tests, hence the popularity of meaningless online test thingys?  Have tests which tell us how smart we are been forced upon us so much that we now need tests to tell us how much of a nerd we are, how good of a kisser we are, or what kind of alcoholic beverage we are most like?  Do we need tests so blindly that we willingly overlook the fact that online tests are created by people who know no more than us and are using bullshit criteria?

I'll admit that I took that nerd test, but after it I felt a great sense of emptiness and time that had been wasted, which prompted this post.   Any thoughts?  Was the test taking experience actually enjoyable?

No, tests suck.  These are just amusing.
