I don't think this is a gift horse?  He wants US to buy his product to make him money.  Entertainment, while entertaining, is not a gift to the consumer.  We are customers, afterall.  Imagine if you went to get a sandwich at a Quiznos and they said, "I don't care if I take an hour to make your sandwich.  I'm kinda doing you a favor here.  We're better than Subway and you don't have to cook."

This is a product.  CT needs lessons in marketing. :)

Agreed.

Whether or not it is a forgiveable offense is a matter of personal opinion, but it cannot be denied that missing an announced deadline has a negative impact on your overall image (maybe not with hardcore fans, but not all fans are hardcore, and this WILL cost them sales in the long run). Releasing a product before it's ready has a similar negative effect (ala the MST3K bots cartoon and "revamped" site).

The underlined part is a dirty lie! LIE!

True... but although it would certainly be an honest advertising campaign, you can't expect Quiznos to come out with a commercial that says, "We don't taste as good at subway... but at least we charge you more!" ;)

Tripe

Lets not forget "plus we heat every thing regardless of ingredient so the grease is omnipresent."

Why did subway follow suit even if they thankfully make it optional.

I guess what I meant was, it feels like a "gift" to have this project on the horizon. Maybe I'm jaded, I've been let down by so-called "release dates" so many times in so many things, maybe I've just come to expect it. It just isn't making me crazy, that's all. It will be out when it's out.

Have a big snifter of Bailey's. It fixes everything.

Seeing how no one was expecting this project a few months ago I think you can all manage to wait a little longer.

GASP!    I love Quiznos and hate Subway.   Eh, that is what makes the world go around.

With the holidays and stuff coming out, I can wait until next week or in early January.    But i would have been nice to just post a short blurb on their website.

Everyone except Molly Brown.

I hugely enjoy any and all Molly Brown references.  Well done, sir.

I was very confused by the image at first. Thought it was some sort of weird paedophiliac thing and then realized it was from Willy Wonka.  Yikes.

There's a difference??

People aren't demanding a new release date though, they are just asking for an update.

Delays happen, and after the fact it probably won't even be remembered (unless it really drags on for a long time) but it would NOT be a big deal to make a little post to keep the people checking the site every day happy. That just seems polite to me.
FINE

  Now!

Didnt Pete Townshend get busted for having images like this on his PC?

(yes, I know he only had them for a book he was writing on child porn - so he says and I give him the benefit of the doubt)

You know, they never actually said Christmas of THIS YEAR. They were, of course, refering to Christmas of 2018. Everyone just assuuuumed they meant this year. Boy, talk about wishful thinking. You guys are so impatient! DIdn't you get all the time capsule references? They have already filmed and manufactured the first release, but it's not to be opened until 2018. You buy it now and get it later. Then you can tell your kids how you ordered this before they were born. So it's like MST3K except you don't have to be nostalgic about it, because you can watch all the movies for the first time in the future. I mean, did you think Trace was toiling over a FAKE time capsule?
