I'd be more than willing to help seed the DVD on myspleen and I've got 6 invites to pass out to rifftrax fans if needed
Are you talking about the compatible dvd that's circulating around now? Let me know if you toss that up on myspleen I'd be more than happy to download and seed the hell out of it, I know they have at least two other version on there but don't think they have the commercials. I also have invites to that site preferably to people I know of on the forums. Sorry new people and people I don't know, nothing personal.

I'm talking about the best one that gets out that I can get my hands on, though preferably not the google transfer honestly....  So whether Isaac does it or I can get a copy from someone else I'll do it....  or if you want to upload yours go ahead too and I'll just download and help seed after...... Anyway, I don't have anything right now

But yeah, I checked the times of both copies on there and they're both about 20 minutes shy so likely no commercials... but the one is apparently the definitive version from possibly a stolen master if you'd want to edit in commercials around that if it's possibly better than yours like Isaac was talking about doing

Pyro,

I'm getting that (alleged master tape) version as we speak.  I'm definitely planning on editing it together with the commercials.  Shouldn't be too difficult as long as my computer cooperates.  Now I'm just waiting for the DVD of the Lake Video version to arrive in the mail and I can get started.  When I'm done, I can upload it to a shared file on my Xdrive, and send it to whoever would like it.  From there, anyone with the means can put it on MySpleen or wherever else they'd like.  I'll post in the SWHS forum when it's all done.

I just finished watching the version I put together.  Since watching it on my PC is OK, I went ahead and skipped making it into a DVD.

I used a program to split the MP4 file into audio and video files.  I then mixed the audio with the Rifftrax MP3.  It was really easy to sync up.

I then put the resulting MP3 file back together with the video, to create a new MP4 file.  It was fast and easy.

Worked perfectly.  Perfect sync throughout.  And the video quality of the MP4 was fine on my 46" HDTV.  Really funny stuff.  It might be the most I've laughed at one of these Rifftrax in a long time.  (Not saying that the other Rifftrax weren't funny, just that this one was really reall funny.)

Lake Placid.  A giant crocodile movie that would actually be a reasonable subject for a Rifftrax.

WARNING:  Betty White swears like a wounded Marine.  A bit of a shift in gears from The Golden Girls.

I just downloaded the file and WinZip's telling me it does not appear to be a valid archive, please download again.   Anyone else having problems?

Sounds like your download got corrupted. Try it again and see if it still does that. Could be a local issue, most likely the case since others are able to unzip it without error. Post back if you find out more.

All is well now.  The problem lay in my crummy, crummy 4-year-old computer.  After trying since this afternoon, I finally got it to completly download (12 kbps on a high-speed Cable connection, I ask you) and will now sit down with some hot buttered popcorn to enjoy a fresh riff.  Joy!

And it has Joe Don Baker in!  How could we go wrong?

You should also log on to this thread and let them know about our "trading  policy".  I see some of you have already weighed in...

Sorry, kinda new. What is your "trading  policy"? I read the FAQ on the main site, and then I searched the forums, but didn't come up with anything.

I know we can donate if we "forgot" to pay. Anything besides that?

I think it's safe to say they don't want anyone trading any of the Rifftrax mp3 files but the video file for the Star Wars Holiday Special is fair game since you can't buy it anywhere.

But how do they feel about making a single synchronized DVD or video file and trading that? Are we encouraged to pay and then share as we please with others who paid? Or are we encouraged not to trade at all? Is there some sort of official policy I can read, or is this just an unspoken mutual understanding between the administrators/copyright owners and the users/customers?

It seems like it would be fair for two people who both paid for the same movie and both paid for the same Rifftrax to get together and make a synced DVD for each other. I could see how that might become a slippery slope, though. I'm not trying to argue, just asking for clarification. Thanks in advance.
