The first half-hour or so had me thinking I might actually enjoy it, then things got horribly long and tedious.  But the biggest problem was the characters.  So much time is wasted on characters that barely have any screen time or have no point at all (What happened to the Australian woman, Anthony Anderson and John Turturro after they smashed the small robot?  Apparently, it doesn't matter.).
Basically, the movie didn't know what it should have focused on.  I wasn't even able to enjoy it as a popcorn flick as a result.  Because of all this, there is actually a chance that the SEQUEL will be better.  The guys did a great job with the riff, though.
Wait... you think the movie was tedious and yet you wanted to see what happened to the Austrailian woman, John Turturro and Anthony Anderson???? I liked it because it established a lot of plot points with just a little bit of talking, not a lot, just a little. I also liked it because the movie never stayed in one setting for too long, and well, because Peter Cullen played Optimus Prime. Doing a Transformers movie without Peter Cullen would be almost like doing a Superman movie without Christopher Reeve. I thought the sense of humor was crazy, and I liked it even though there may have been a little more time spent on that than necessary. It certainly as a whole was like nothing i've ever seen before, and that to me was great.

I'll try to say something that will make you happy... it's easily the best MIchael Bay movie ever. And yes, I like it.

I'd say either the Island or the Rock are Michael Bay's best movies.  I actually like parts of the Island, but probably because I remember the jokes from Parts:  The Clonus Horror.

You mean like "DA GOOD OF DAH PEEPOLL!! DA GOOD OF DAH PEEPOLL DA GOOD DA GOOD OF DAH PEEPOLL!".
I could listen to Tom Servo say that all day and not stop laughing. Now it's jokes like that that truly endeared me to MST3K.

Okay, in my opinion, i liked Transformers. Why?

Because it's one of the best trash action movies of the 21st century.

Trash action movies are always stupid. And they have been made since the 70's. I mean, we got action films like Vanishing Point and Mad Max in the 70's, Red Dawn and Road House in the 80's, Point Break and Starship Troopers in the 90's, and now Crank and Transformers. Which is why i enjoyed them, because they're pure trash. They're cheesy, they're not meant to be taken seriously, and you need to shut your funking brain just to enjoy them. If you do not liked Transformers, then you should be watching some mindless cheesy action films of the past and tell me if you still didn't like this movie (Especially Road House).

A very reasonable opinion.  :)

I disagree!  You're lumping Transformers in with Vanishing Point, Mad Max, Red Dawn, Road House, Point Break, and Starship Troopers?  I would watch, and have watched, all these movies multiple times and never felt dumber for doing so.  They all have understandable, and even likable stories.  Transformers is a shitty movie.  I would watch Point Break 27 times in a row with my dick in a vise the entire time before I would watch Transformers again.

Fuzzy Necromancer

I have to say that's a bit harsh. Transformers is worse than Point "The FBI is paying me to surf" Break, with Keanu reeves, even in multiples complete with a genital-vice? o_0

I'd rather watch transformers sans-rifftrax twice than anything that contains Keanu Reeves but fails to include time travel and the phrase "excellent".

So you would rather watch Keanu getting his ass kicked by a naked woman than watching Bonecrusher fighting Optimus on the highway?

I'm assuming he was joking.  Naked women always trump blurs doing something on a highway.

What I was saying was that if you can't at least appreciate it for being a fun action-packed sci-fi film, you can at least appreciate it for being a trash action movie. In my opinion, if someone can't do that then they're just being difficult.

I think you've summed it up perfectly.
