I've downloaded the Rifftrax player.  I've downloaded the codex for video.  I've downloaded the codex for audio.  I've even uninstalled and reinstalled each of those -- how long should it take to load my RiffTrax so I can watch a movie??  I haven't been able to watch anything even after following everyone's suggestions.  I select "Load RiffTrax" and it just sits there....mocking me....

Here's what I have, computer-wise (and I just bought it 2 weeks ago!):

Intel Core 2 Duo processor 1.5GHz/2M
1024 MB DDR2 RAM
Windows Vista Home Premium

Plus, PowerDVD, WMP & Microsoft Media Center were already pre-loaded and I've used them before today.

Help!!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one having this problem!  I started watching a movie last night and then when I went to finish it today, I couldn't get the program to load the film.

LBeria - did you have the DVD loaded before you loaded the .riff?  If so, you might try uninstalling the RiffTrax Player from the control panel and then reinstalling it.  Let me know what happens.

Nope....  I launched the Rifftrax Player, tried to load the .riff file and it said to insert the DVD.  I did that, but it never loaded or played the file.  I then closed the player, had the DVD in the drive but not launched, and then launched the player and tried to load the file.  Still nothing.

I even tried it on my older desktop last night -- and no luck there either.  This bites...  :'(

Timelord

I am also having this problem.  The other day I watched X-Men sing the Rifftrax Player.  It grabbed the latest update (1.1.0.3) before playing and everything was fine.
Today, though, I'm trying to watch Harry Potter, and it won't load.  It just sits there after I tell it to load the rifftrax.
I have noticed that the .riff file is about 50 MB, and the MP3 (after unzipping) is about 100MB...is there a problem with the .riff file?  I have downloaded it twice (just in case it was a download problem on my end) and it still doesn't work.

My problem is with Harry Potter as well.  I did download the MP3 file and watch the DVD in my DVD player while playing the MP3 file on my laptop (mentioned above).  Excellent riffing!!  Just wish the Rifftrax Player would work so I can take it to my office and show it to my friends....

Just replying to myself here so I can bump this back up towards the top of the threads....

I emailed Rifftrax before posting here and still have had no response.

Any ideas guys and gals???

I have this same problem under XP but not under Vista.  I am using the same version of K-Lite Codec Pack on both OS's and also using a virtual drive for the dvd.

It must be something in XP because my system is a dual boot setup.  So the hardware and software (besided the os) are exactly the same.

My exact problem is:  When I click the load rifftrax and choose my .riff file it will sit there with the spinning hour glass indefinitly.

Insert Coin(s) to Continue

I have this problem every once in a while. Re-download the .riff file from the mothership again and it should work fine.
