Ever notice how lately a lot of movies resort to the tired cliche of someone falling down when they are on stage or while dancing or something? Physical comedy is all good but falling down is the oldest trick in the book and I suggest that cliches like this are responsible for the continued work of very unfunny people like Will Ferrel and Steve Carrel. Yes, I fear the art of comedy is no longer so much art as it is cut and paste these days.

I think it's more the random insertion of penis jokes than the falling, actually. Falling was likely the first joke, and will likely be the last.

And THAT is why penis jokes will always be around.

Youuuu....

I haven't seen as many down-fallings recently as I have lame "zany" moments where x pothead screws up y simple task and z mayhem ensues. Although the cliche so insidious that we hardly notice it anymore is the Stuffy Old White Guy who blubbers and huffs when the hip college-age kids launch a bowl of strawberry icing into the prom dance or something.

I think one day very soon, Penis jokes will be quickly and completely replaced by cialis and viagra jokes.

I was going to put "no pun intended" in there, but I decided to let you guys have your fun.

This isn't a productive area of discussion  ;D

Have you every seen some one actually fall down, and then try and act like nothing is happened?  There is something that is innately funny about it, about the destruction of dignity and the futile attempt to regain it.  Some people can fall better than others, Chaplain being one of the best.  But even the idea of falling down makes people (the younger the better) laugh a lot.  Falling will never go away, though it's not a bad thing to desire more tasteful tumbles.

And yet Chaplain is still inferior in the falling-then-trying-to-recover-humerously area to almost any cat.

More than the falling downs, I find that "people getting hit with things" is the new way.  See: Epic Movie, Date Movie, Scary Movie, Scary Movie 2, are you seeing a pattern yet?  I dubbed "Epic Movie" as "People Getting Hit With Shit: The Movie!"

You're clearly made of sterner stuff than I. I can't even devote that many syllables to that dreadful thing.  :)

Oh oh I didn't see it.  I don't want anyone thinking my stomach is stronger than it is.  I'm just referring to the trailer.

I did however see Date Movie.  Not by choice.  I was forced.  And he was punished severely.
