I thought I'd try to start a thread for us to make a list of movie/pop culture websites to try and contact about RiffTrax.com.  Since the USAToday.com article went over well, there are bound to be other sites that would be interested in hearing about RiffTrax.com in some well written emails.  I know youtube.com is well worn territory so I won't bother listing that.  I know there have been a few threads already about marketing ideas, but I thought this could be exclusivley for us to list out who has been contacted and who should be contacted.  Well here's a few that I have thought of, but have not contacted:

www.ign.com (As far as I know, this is a really popular site for movies/video games/etc. and they seem like the type of site that would be interested in something like rifftrax)

www.aintitcool.com (I'm sure someone has written them already, but I thought I'd include it anyway)

movies.yahoo.com

www.eonline.com

www.rottentomatoes.com

www.cnn.com/showbiz (I know this is probably a long shot, but who knows)

www.scifi.com

Given that The Phantom Menace Rifftrax just came out, I think this is the perfect time to try to get people to notice RiffTrax.

Tarantulas

heh... SciFi.com

We all know how they feel about riffing ;) (or at least how they used to)

is another one you can send tips to.  I sent an email to this one and AICN, but with no luck.

It's too bad AICN didn't do a write up on it.  It seems like the kind of thing that would be right up their ally.  It's frustrating that Uwe Boll boxing a couple of critics made headlines across most major entertainment news providers, but rifftrax hasn't made much of ripple in entertainment news yet.

Also, I'm wondering if there are any political sites that the commerical riff could be sent to.  I just typed in rifftrax on yahoo.com and it gets 27,300 hits, so we know people are at least talking about it outside of these boards.

I would bet Bill Maher would love those riffed political ads, and might even show them on his HBO show, Real Time... billmaherfanmail@safesearching.com

That's a really good idea.

I'll be glad to do it later on, but not sure how to send the request, as far as wording. Anyone have a sort of generic/form letter version of a head's up that they're sending out? If so, and you can post it here, that would make it helpful for anyone wishing to promote it.

If someone else wants to send Bill M. a note, go right ahead, though :)

I'm trying to concieve of the best way to put together an email to make it seem interesting, without sounding silly.  If I come up with anything, I'll post it here.

And please, if anyone else has any good ideas about how to put one together let us know!

Not yet, I've been too busy to contact anyone.  I figured I'd wait until the next BIG rifftrax that comes out, that might be news-worthy.
