I liked it, great popcorn action flick ... albeit the peeing robot joke and the hide a robot joke were stupid ... the rest of the movie was good. I really don't know what you guys (and gals) were expecting from this movie? It was an action movie about space robots ... knowing nothing about the Transformer universe I can truthfully say that the movie was exactly what I was expecting it to be.

Batman Begins was Light Years better and it was a Summer Blockbuster. F*** Michael Bay.
Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

Oh, I think bettertommorrowamy answered that very question earlier in this thread:

Transformers should have been a movie about fucking Transformers, not whether or not some pussy fuck could make it with his high school's chief slut.  I could care less.  That's the real problem with the film.  The Transformers were never fleshed out as real characters.  The were almost incidental to the plot.  Everything seemed to hinge on whether or not that kid could pull his head out of his ass long enough to find some glasses and use them to find a box that turns into a bigger box when rubbed correctly.

I would've used a little more tact than he did.  Still, we basically agree on what we wanted this movie to be.
Imrahil: Don't care about Riding with Death.

Bob: Turkey.

Action Batch:  Woah, let's all mellow out and rap about this.

Although I liked Shia's performance, that does actually make a bit more sence ... not being a Transformers cartoon fan I guess I missed that omission. I suppose it would be a bit like making a ninja turtles movie, then consentraiting on the human character. Although turtles (1990) did this with the "danny" and "april" subplots, it also was a crowd pleaser with plenty of turtle action.

Doctor Who?

I have very mixed feelings about the first movie.

I loved the parts where the Robots were fighting but I couldn't stand the 'Comedy"bits(Robots peeing, masterbation jokes in a movie based on kids toys seemed out of place, and don't get me started on the stereotypes this may have been the most racist movie since Birth of a nation).

If I here from a reviewer that I trust that they have fixed those things I will gladly go and watch the mayhem, but if they haven't I know I will  not see it in the theaters and I may not even rent it.

For me any way the Transformers movie was 45% good/55% bad.

Pak-Man

Fun fact! The Masturbation joke was improved by the actress. (So sayeth the cool HD commentary with video clips spliced in. :^))

I don't mind people who hate this movie. I personally loved this movie, but like I said, it's not for everyone. What gets me is the people who take it personally. Like the movie was specifically designed to enrage them. I'm a Transformers fan from WAY back, and have more than a few of them staring at me from my computer desk as I type this, and I know the Transformers mythos, be it comic book or cartoon. I can say that Bay successfully made me, a Transformers fan, happy, so his intent COULDN'T have been to irk the Transfromers fans (Which is a silly goal to begin with.) So maybe you're the biggest TF fan in the world and this movie wasn't your cup of tea. There are many, many, many, many other incarnations of the Transformers to enjoy. Maybe you just like to hate Michael Bay movies. That's understandable, but as stupid as his movies tend to be, Bay and Transformers was a match made in heaven. The two work together nicely and I enjoyed the results.

But tomorrow, lovers and haters alike will get the oportunity to laugh at the TF movie. I suggest we all do that. It really beats getting angry over the Transformers movie. :^)

You know, I don't think I will ever get over my ire over this lackluster, amateurish venture in shiving a huge middle finger in my face hyperbolically with this franchise. I do not want to associate with anyone who funds these piles of excrement willingly.
Oh it's not nearly as bad as that pile of excrement Ratatouille! I mean jeez that movie was so horrible and cliched, it was just the same crap that pixar doles out with every movie they make. I mean just like the Incredibles(which was not even a good Fantastic four rip-off) Brad Bird just crapped another movie out his ass and put it in the theaters and children go "Mommy! Mommy! It's a completely animated CGI movie with a Rat that thinks he knows how to cook? Can we see please?!". I refuse to associate with anyone who funds that pile of rat excrement willingly  ;)

And I will undoudtedly be forced to watch Ratatouille at my in-laws over the holidays.  :P   But hey, Pak would have gone to see it with his brothers and payed $$ and everything if he'd had the time. Does this mean, because I will probably dislike this movie, that I should stop associating with him?  :D

So, because I saw the TF movie willingly (and liked it), does this mean some people will stop associating with me on the forum? Because I've been told I'm a fairly nice person otherwise.  ;D

Aaaww, thanks. You wouldn't want to see me around animals though. I go from nice to outright disgusting in about .02 seconds.

As long as it doesn't involve eating some weird ethnic dish that has an animal I love in it.

What boggles my mind is why anyone would waste energy supporting a film created by Michael Bay.

Because not all of us regard Bay as the film making equivalent of the Antichrist.

Seriously people, this "ZOMG! THIS IS THE WURST FILM/DIRECTUR EVUR!!!!!!!!" stuff gets old after a while.

Exactly, I mean for example, I hate the movie Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, but dammit I don't go onto every forum I am registered with and make a new post every 30 seconds talking about how much George Lucas sucks ass and how the Phantom Menace sucks. I simply can't see how anybody gets any joy or fun out of that movie at all because it tries to be more of a movie intended for kids aged 4-10 rather than for adults. Let's also not forget what Michael J Nelson himself once said: "Considering all the resources at Lucases disposal, The Phantom Menace is the worst movie ever made,"

Well considering the title of this thread, and the fact that Rifftrax is going to have a Transformers riff coming out, I think I am justified in venting my bile for Michael Bay.  You don't like it, tough shit.  I like Transformers (not the shitty movie), I just strongly believe that the future of the Transformers should not be put in the hands of a mental midget who's only real accomplishment was his "Got Milk" advertisements.  Any other director would have made the main characters in a movie called "Transformers" the actual Transformers, not a wussy human.  O.k., now I'm done.
