Absolutely. I figured it might have been the attitude that bothered you more than anything, and I empathize.

The Rifftrax is going to be hilarious, anyway.  I think we can all agree on that (probably not).

I think this is the first movie that I can say is perfect for riffing and mean it completely.

AmandaGal

I have to agree.  Even though I liked it, I see the absurdity of it at the same time.  Heck, it's Michael Bay.  I found myself laughing inappropriately even without Mike's comments, but I tend to do that with most  movies.

Michael Bay's Transformers is the worst film ever made, and I really, really mean that.

Really? Have you seen Troll 2?  I can name countless films that were worse.

Michael Bay's Transformers was not classic cinema, but I think you're using a eensy bit of hyperbole there, kid.

No, I mean that literally. I haven't seen Troll 2, but being a MST3K fan, not to mention someone who owns 5 Ed Wood movies, 10 Godzilla movies, and actually sat all the way through Catwoman, yes, I really and truely literally mean that it's the worst movie ever made. Hang fanboyism, hang the fact that it's an adaptation of a previous work- as someone who appreciates film, I'm angry that something like it actually exists. It isn't a movie, it's an infomercial you have to pay to see. It's patient zero for the direction in which the "summer blockbuster" is going. From King Kong, to Gojira, to Forbidden Planet, then to the 70s and 80s ovure of Speilberg and Lucas, was a significant upward trend in quality. Then came the massive fucking dip in quality with the introduction of Roland Emmrich and Michael Bay. Mr. Bay's movies have somehow managed to become more and more brutally braindead over time, until finally he reached Transformers. Were TF a failure, I wouldn't have worried. However, since it is technically the most profitable blockbuster of the year, plus a massive merchandise machine (bringing Transformers back to being the #1 toy), plus the fifty or so movies based on toys now being rushed into production (seriously: Robosapien is in production right now), plus the continued success of movies that serve as infomercials (I, Robot, I'm looking your direction). It is the cinema equivalent of a happy meal: Cheap, flavor-injected, mass-produced, assembly line poison.

Well, all other things aside (I don't like arguing with brick walls), I just want to say this: you realize that Hasbro had a great deal do with the original series, right?  Heck, Hasbro wouldn't sell anything to do with it though.  They're purists.  I'm sure they just made the cartoon to enrich our lives and the toys were not for profit, but for the good of all mankind.

What boggles my mind is why anyone would waste energy supporting a film created by Michael Bay.  Transformers should have been a movie about fucking Transformers, not whether or not some pussy fuck could make it with his high school's chief slut.  I could care less.  That's the real problem with the film.  The Transformers were never fleshed out as real characters.  The were almost incidental to the plot.  Everything seemed to hinge on whether or not that kid could pull his head out of his ass long enough to find some glasses and use them to find a box that turns into a bigger box when rubbed correctly.

I don't think we have ever talked before, but i'm already seeing that our relationship is going to start off very rocky. I think you are acting like an ingrate, spoiled little shit who can't accept the fact that things change, and that if it had no budget it could have been a real disaster of Uwe Boll proportions. And luckily Michael Bay has a good eye for action, and I could imagine lots more going wrong if he had not helmed the movie. Furthermore, if I hated Transformers, I would at the very least have the balls to say that it's not the worst movie ever made, and not by many astronomical units(About 93 million miles each). If you disagree, fine, you're entitled to your own opinion, just make sure you're reaching it with a more objective eye, because there are truly much, much, MUCH worse movies out there! *cough*going overboard*cough*

Pak-Man

Well, I think fans of the movie can agree that it's not for everyone.

Now if we could only get everyone to agree that there should be fans of the movie. :^)

In a perfect world i'd say no but it's clearly not a perfect world! :D

Is that in the Transformers vocabulary?? ::) :D :D

Bay is the greatest director that ever walked the Earth.

See what I did there, I stated something in extreme hyperbole that should be an opinion but was worded as a fact.

See how dumb it makes me look? ;D

Yeah I enjoyed the movie, but calling Bay the greatest director that ever walked the Earth is like calling me a world class athelete when the most physical thing I do is playing "Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games" on Wii.  Also calling "Transformers" the worst film ever made is like calling "Manos: Hands of Fate" "Citizen Kane."

You know, I don't think I will ever get over my ire over this lackluster, amateurish venture in shiving a huge middle finger in my face hyperbolically with this franchise. I do not want to associate with anyone who funds these piles of excrement willingly.
Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

I liked it, great popcorn action flick ... albeit the peeing robot joke and the hide a robot joke were stupid ... the rest of the movie was good. I really don't know what you guys (and gals) were expecting from this movie? It was an action movie about space robots ... knowing nothing about the Transformer universe I can truthfully say that the movie was exactly what I was expecting it to be.

I think it all stems from being attached to the past versions.  I find it very interesting that I, who had a passing interest in Transformers in the past, enjoyed it and my roommate who could never stand Transformers before loved it.

Then again my other roommate loved Transformers before and he enjoyed the movie too, especially in the geekier moments like when Prime quoted the old movie.
