Yes, Lucas wants to do stories set in the Star Wars universe for TV only featuring characters we've not met before and events that are taking place at the same time as the events in the film but not really connected to them.

At least that's what he was saying a few months ago.

Sounds like it could be a good idea, as long as Lucas has no creative control in it.

No, i don't think that the first Cinematic Titanic DVD project could be Zardoz. In fact, didn't it just recently get a new DVD release awhile ago? Anyway i just think that it's pretty funny that the guys from ILM and Joel will be sitting around watching and riffing on Zardoz... of all movies. Ha!

Yeah, the Lucas connection does make a hell of a lot more sense now.  I don't think that excludes Lucas or ILM related stuff from the realm of possibility, but I'm open for pretty much anything at this point.

IT said in the article that the people involved in the Flecks were Lucas people and they were giving Joel an award.  The live show spawned from that.

It did seem pretty abrupt.  Maybe the next part of the conversation actually dealt with specifics about the first release or something, so they cut it to preserve the secret.  Just a thought.
