Am I the only one that assumed the commentary would be build into the dvd? It's not. Gotta say, I'm a bit disappointed.

edit: Okay, I guess it does say right on the order page that there's no commentary, but who has time for reading things? Not me!

Bairman

It was clearly stated here in the forum that it would NOT be included.  I think it was the 40 Questions thread.

Never assume...

I'm too impatient to sift through 20 questions, let alone 40.   ;D

To avoid similar misunderstandings, the RiffTrax folks might want to consider specifically mentioning it in the product description on the catalog page for those who don't read the forums.  It couldn't hurt anyway.

Detective Chimp

They did, but it was somewhat subdued (*only one word in bold). For people like me who click through things willy-nilly, I'd recommend flashing, rotating banners and possibly a siren.

*okay, the word was "NOT" but that could have meant anything. ::)

Also, if a DVD contains a commentary, that's usually the first thing that gets mentioned. (See: Little Shop of Horrors, Swing Parade, Plan 9, Reefer Madness, House on Haunted Hill)

I also was shocked, nay, enraged when I got the dvd and then realized... I figured for sure, I mean, it never would have occured to me Legend would even sell a dvd without a Mike commentary! I think it's pretty brutal to sell both the dvd and rifftrax and make me do the dirty work!

Unless not having a commentary was a stipulation for the rights to Missle to the Moon, that I would understand.

Shame on you Rifftrax. And shame upon me for not figuring it out!  :'(

Sorry. We'll try to say it more than the 100 times we said it in this instance.

Ah, see! I'm not the only one. Welcome, brother. Perhaps we should start a support group.

Next time, build a pop up that says "Do you agree that you're a moron if you still think the commentary track is included?" and have people click yes ;)

Of course, nobody reads those either so people would still complain.
mike5150 how tall are you?.....in gallons?

I agree that it was very well publicized as not being included here on the forums, and there is a sentence on the page that says it isn't, AND I bought it knowing that it wasn't included, however, in the defence of these guys:

"Here's your chance to buy DVDs with a RiffTrax commentary already in the movie!"

That's a little missleading.

I know I don't always read the entire blurb when buying a Rifftrax.
FINE

C'mon now... that's hardly RiffTrax's fault.

I'm not blaming Rifftrax for it, and I can get away with that, because I'm on the forums, I'm saying that if you read the part where it SAYS you can buy a DVD with a Riff built in, and then you click to buy it, you might well not go looking for a line telling you it in fact doesn't.

And I'm only playing devils advocate here, because, as I said, I knew the deal, but obviously some people didn't.

While I'm at it, the same could be said for the 3 Stooges DVDs where the Film Crew just do skits rather than actually riff it.
