Is it a prime number?

No even number other than 2 can ever be a prime number, because all other even numbers are divisible by 2.

The Film crew releases were definitely recorded before Rifftrax was created.  If you watch the DVDs all the way to the end, the copyright at the very end is 2005.

There was a thread a while back where Torgo said something and then the Shout Factory guy gave a more thorough explanation.  I'll see if I can find it.

From the Wiki:

QuoteAt the end of each released episode, a 2005 copyright appears; this would indicate prior efforts to get the series on television, but it is not known if there were efforts to do so.

That was just speculation.  Rhino was supposed to put these out and for whatever reason (to much like MST3K maybe?) they did not. These sat on a shelf until Shout Factory was able to release them.

Here's one:

He says if the first 4 do "well" there will be more.

Here's the one I was thinking of:

"Bob Honcho here. Just wanted to let all you fans of Mike, Kevin, and Bill that The Film Crew is NOT dead. Four DVDs are slated for 2007 release and if those do well, there will be more to come.

We at Shout! Factory are big fans of Mike, Kevin and Bill's wherever it appears. MST, RiffTrax, The Film Crew: it's all good. We hope that you agree!"

The certaintly in that message seems to suggest that maybe The Film Crew have a contract with Shout Factory! that extends past the 4 initial releases.

I still can't believe Rhino didn't release them.  Especially when MST3k is one of their biggest sellers.

BathTub

Well that's part of the story, basically Rhino were, but Jim Mallon stepped in and said "MST3K or Film Crew?" or just sued them, depending on which story is currently going around.

Shout!Factory apparently has held onto the sets, which seems kind of unnecessary to me, it's not like they were particularly noteworthy or anything.

QuoteRE: New episodes on the way?
I can't say one way or another, if it's going well or not.  I can only say, "it's going..."  There's a lot of interest within the company and with the guys.  Mike's got RiffTrax, which is a full-time job for him, Bill and Kevin are both amerced in their various writings.  It's difficult to pin the boys down for any given time in one location.

I don't know.  We'd love to see some more titles out there, public domain or not.  There's nothing happening immediately, but Shout! Factory is certainly looking forward to a bright future...which includes The Film Crew.

Well, I finally ordered my copies of the Film Crew DVDs, I was waiting for them all to come out so that I could order them all at once, thus only having to pay for shipping once.

Oh boy! I can't wait!
FINE

I bought these first four DVDs (and really enjoyed two of them), but the price is too high to keep doing so.

If they fix their low audio issue and cut the price per movie in half (perhaps by doing two-per-DVD, or just cutting the price), I will continue buying them. Otherwise, I'll only buy the ones that get great reviews.

MrTorso

So you are only willing to pay $7??
