Funny that someone asked if it was PG-13 when this movie series was the reason PG-13 was created.

According to imdb.com, the movie Red Dawn was supposedly the reason the PG-13 rating was created.

I'm going by something Spielberg said in an interview once (sorry, can't remember which one) where he thought Raiders was too violent for children and actually talked to members of the rating board about it.  I could be off, especially thinking that now that I look and Last Crusade was the first of the series to be PG-13, but always thought that was the case.

I heard that it was 'Temple of Doom' and 'Gremlins' that "inspired" the PG-13 rating.  Huh.

Well at least that goes along with my Spielberg connection.  I need to find that interview, wish I could remember what I was watching.  Maybe it's on the Indy bonus disc somewhere.

Raiders?  Are you sure?  I had it from a pretty good source that it was gonna be Spiderman.   ;)  Watch, a year from now they will do Spiderman and that guy will come back on and say "Ha! I told you so!"

Excellent choice once again, although I'm sure there will be the usual crop of complainers.  "No!  Raiders is a good movie!"  Bah!

P.S.  I noticed that on October 16th (two weeks after Raiders comes out) a little summer film called Transformers is released on DVD in North America.  I predict that this will be the next Rifftrax and the second day-and-date Rifftrax release.

Although I could be wrong.

Yeah, I think Star Wars will be great, even if the only available version is the (tragically) CGI-mangled new editions. They'll probably rip on the ridiculous changes more than the original material.

The original versions were released on DVD last year, in two packs with their special edition counterparts. Episode IV is so pre-SEs that it doesnt even say Episode IV. That's 1977 original release.

I'd hate to break the news, but if Mike & Co. riff the Original Star Wars, i guarantee that they wont riff the "real" versions, and they'll most likely riff the SE editions, as those are probably the most prevalent(and probably more riff-worthy)

Indeed, as I said before a riff of the SE Star Wars will be the only thing to get me to watch disc one of my two packs.  I listened to the directors commentary on all three, but I did it with the picture off.  I will not watch Hayden Christenson in Return of the Jedi without a rifftrax to keep the evil away.
