Those poor guys, they can't even afford plates? They have to put the food directly on their family, now?

Seriously though, i don't care about a dollar more. I was just waiting for the price to raise eventually anyway. This is quality stuff, man. And this wouldn't be a real Rifftrax thread if someone didn't complain about something!

I don't take offense to anything you said, jewishcarpenter. It is a valid point that that would be the cost. And I'd be fine if they said, we're going to need to start charging an extra dollar for the new trax to keep the company running.

But they said, it costs more to do a 3 person trax vs a 2 person, and I'm just looking at all the previous evidence that suggests otherwise.

Just come out and say, "From now on, we're charging $4 for any movie with 3 riffers, or one that's over 2 hours long."

I'm sure everyone would be fine with it. Hell, let's get a poll going about it.

Howard Johnson is right!

Sorry, I mean, I agree.  I have no real problem with paying more for all three guys.  Just be upfront about the price change.   We're junkies, we're addicted, we will pay more.

They are being totally upfront, by selecting the list of of previous riffs with the 3 guys it hides that they've previously charged the same price as all the other riffs (with or without Kevin, Mary Jo, Lowtax or NPH) so the extra costs of a third riffer was not reflected in the price. Something it would be fair to assume they have decided not to just keep absorbing anymore.

I almost feel like RiffTrax has become some sort of phone company with some crazy rates or something like that.

Yes, you can have the chaps of Mystery Science Theater in YOUR living room, riffing on YOUR favorite movies whenever you please!  RiffTrax!  It's only $1.99* for a 90-min. track, and $1.00 more per guest riffer or extra half hour in the movie.  Why pass up on this special offer?!  But wait, there's more!  With the purchase of a RiffTrax, we'll throw in a special device to keep the file synced up with the movie, ABSOLUTELY FREE!  It's a $5.99 value, and it can be yours for FREE--IF you order now!

*Give or take, you know, a dollar or something.

Well, got that out of my system, so now for a question: What is your opinion ("Your" being the opinion of the guys that work here) on packaging a certain number of RiffTrax together and selling them for one price?  And I'm not referring to combining prices at the checkout, I'm talking about a sort of box set thinger.  Only without the box.  It's a metaphoric box.  So there.

But, yeah.  RiffTrax bundles.  What do you think, sirs?

torgosPizza

Something we are considering for the next iteration of the website.

Actually that's something we hope to have sooner, rather than later. Stay tuned.

Sounds almost natural, what with the soon-to-be-finished prequel trilogy riffs (prequilogy?).

Phantom of Krankor

Great! I can't wait. Maybe now after this they can riff the original Star Wars trilogy. Heck, enough of Star Wars, lets have them riff the the next two LOTR movies! Or perhaps the horrendous Matrix sequals ( please, they really really deserve a good riffing! ).

But anyways, looking forward to ROTS.
I am Ambassador Phantom, from the planet Krankor! I am rapidly approaching your planet... in the warship, which you have just seen. I will arrive tomorrow night at precisely eight o'clock. At that time I shall make my wishes known to you. You will obey them... or die! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

Raven

Just wanted to be clear, that I wasn't complaining about the price.  Just an observation I noticed.  Thanks for letting me know the reasons.

Can we have like, one thread without politics intruding?  I'm sorry, it's just that I come here to get away from all that crap, and it harshes my Rifftrax buzz.

Yes, I too am offended by how disgusting our government is, and would just like to have a lobotomy.

Whaddaya mean, "would like?"   :b

Any particular reason this one is $3.99 instead of the $2.99 price tag?

It costs more to make a three man trax than it does a two man one.  That's the reason for the 3.99.

Movie                                Runtime                  Riffers           Price
Daredevil                          1:33:00                       3                $2.99
Battlefield Earth               1:59:00                       3                $2.99
Star Trek VI                       1:49:00                       3                $2.99
Star Wars Ep. II                2:22:00                       3                $2.99
300                                     1:57:00                       3                $2.99
The Bourne Identity         1:59:00                       3                $2.99
Independence Day          2:25:00                       3                $2.99

Star Wars Episode III      2:20:00                       3                $3.99?

I'm seeing inconsistencies. Is it due to inflation?

Meh. Sometimes prices for stuff go up. If people are upset about it, that means they're probably watching too much local TV news (I am SO sick and tired of  "Up next: How are YOU coping with higher prices at the pump?").  :)

Note: I'm not implying that YOU were upset about it, SASD.

Wait.  Aren't the higher prices at the pump stories the kind of stories that John Stossel does?
Oh and why does Mr. Stossel hate wrestlers?
