Thought i'd knock up a new thread get some more discussing on the board  ;D

Title says it all really, with us all being movie fans i want to know how big your DVD collection is and, in the spirit of Rifftrax being about bad movies, which DVD in your collection are you embaressed about owning?

Oh and you don't have to name any of the DVDs you might have bought for Rifftrax (unless of course, you already owned Crossroads)

I'll start us off...
My DVD collection is currently at 666 (i kid you not)
The DVD i'm probably most embaressed about owning is Jersey Girl. I'm a Kevin Smith fan and have all his other movies (and the 'Evening With' and 'Clerks' cartoon DVDs) so had to get this one... I was smart and waited till it was dead cheap though.
I also own Uwe Boll's 'Alone in the Dark'... For this, i have no excuse

Of the DVDs i SHOULD be embaressed about but am not (i have little shame)
Power Rangers: The Movie
Surburban Commando
Bridges Of Madison County (Clint Eastwood fan and get all his movies, and to be honest, this wasn't that bad a film)

So there, i made a fool out of myself... Your turn  ;D
In brightest day, in darkest night
No DVD shall escape their sight
Let those who tremble in bad movies light,
Beware the power, Rifftrax's might!

Minority Report is a good movie!

Hmmm...

I have around 700 DVD's, but the ones I don't like but refuse to part with are the Paul Morrisey Criterion DVD's Blood for Dracula and Flesh for Frankenstein.  They're both completely awful movies, trumped up by their association with Andy Warhol into something respectable.  I keep them only because they're Criterion and I semi-collect them.

I dont even count the # of DVD's I have. But I do like to make note of my DVD series (other then MST3K). Like X-Files Season 1-9, all the Simpsons (even the ones not released; I capture my own eps), all the South Parks...Family Guy...Mr.Show...Kids in the Hall...

I gotta say, I'm not too embarrassed to own any of my dvds, but the closest would probably be Alien vs Predator.  I KNOW it's not good, but I still like it.

Some of you might sneer at the amount of Tom Cruise I have in my collection, but I like a lot of his movies.

Clearly, I'm most embarrased of owning Crossroads, now... almost my entire collection consists of MSTies, Simpsons and Family Guy, so I'm generally safe :)

I do have a few guilty pleasures in my collection...  but wither they are truely bad is subjective.

I guess the "worst" DVD I own is "Rejected"... but only because I paid $19 for a 7 minute cartoon.

It's not THAT bad, plus the commentaries and the Roadside Attractions shorts are awesome.

For some reason I have a bootleg VCD of the movie SAW floating around my DVDs.  It embarrasses me for its illegality, its substandard video quality, and its increasingly over-the-top yelping Cary Elwes performance in the final scenes.

Though to be fair, how else are you meant to act when the script says "and he proceeds to saw off his own foot"? :)

You raise a good point.  (Now put it down, you're frightening me.  ;))

I loved Saw, but then Leigh Whannel was my favourite movie critic before he bacame a screenwriter.

...this is the second 'bad' movie I've defended, is that a bad thing?

I guess the most embarassing DVD I own would be one of my girlfriend's lame romantic comedies, although I own a lot of wrestling DVDs which I suppose a lot of people would find embarasing.

my DVD collection is more meager than most of you guys it seems. 700? do you live a shack without plumbing and electricty and catch all of your meals?

I wouldn't say many of mine are embarressing, but purhaps the most shameful or useless would be a copy of Troma's Monster in the Closet. This is the stupidest and most annoying psuedo horror-comedy ever.

The back of the box tries to pass it off as some sort of horror movie parody on a classic comedy level. Really it just looks like a bad horror movie with a couple of comedy bits that fall completely flat
I really do like pie.

I'm on a sacred quest: To see every movie ever made.  I rent a whole bunch (7 a month, I think), I work in a cinema projection booth, and all my buddies have as many DVD's as me, so we trade.  I keep a log and everything, if the latter wasn't nerdy enough.

One day, at the end of time, I shall watch White Chicks.

With just over 1000 DVDs the one disc I find myself defending more often than not is Deep Blue Sea Renny Harlin is such a hack and all and the sheer cheese value of the movie makes it a must own for me. Also I get guff for my R. Kelly Trapped In The Closet DVD too. That one is a DVD-r but I still get crap for it when people see it in my collection. Then I make them watch it. It was by far the best novelty record/video of all time!
