forgive me for my n00bness, but I really don't understand DAP. I've been pointed there before, and all I see is lists of stuff and the part that says WE DON'T ACTUALLY HAVE THE CLIPS YOU DON'T DOWNLOAD THEM FROM HERE. so what does dap do exactly?

and I don't know what eDonkeying is and I'm not sure if I want to be a part of it

I suggest you get in irc.dapcentral.org and send a private message to Queued about it. If he doesn't reply, just keep messaging him over and over until he does. You'll get ahead by mentioning how the DAP should switch to bittorrent.

It's really not that hard.  If you follow the set up guide in the faq exactly then you'll be golden.  I know nothing about the internets and I was able to do it eventually.
